Yahoo: Final 'Harry Potter' title announced

I can't be the only nerd on CM who was excited at this sign of progress from JK Rowling, even though I realize the actual book is probably still ages away.

I'm pretty sure she won't kill off dear old Harry, but I could be wrong. What do other HP fans think?

Last year, Scholastic speculated on a release date of 7/7/07. And when HBP's title came out in December 2004, it was released the next summer. Therefore, I am hoping that Deathly Hallows will come out next summer, but not too close to the release of the OotP movie. The fans' heads would explode from overload if that happened.

And if this were LiveJournal, I would be using my pretty Lucius PotterPuff to celebrate the occasion.

Now I just need to trump my sister's guessing who the half blood prince was by making some absurd, yet correct prediction.

If a book eight were to come out, I think some or most even people would not be very big fans of a college age/adult Harry Potter. Kids want to see a kid. Being a kid going to magic school was what made Potter famous in the first place. If more books where to come out, you could try to keep him as a young adult like Peter Parker in Spider Man or go back in bewtween each story and have a minnie series which will enclude view points of other characters much like the Star Wars series.

Ok i think i got this right!!
My unmentionable who is a big HP fan said Harry does die and the story will be continued through his son. Not sure where she heard this but pretty sure it was her who told me [8|]

I guess I am the only one who thinks harry's parents will come back through some kind of magical time warp so he can be with them again. The three of them will join forces and lay evil to rest once and for all... and they all lived happily ever after.

I don't know if I want to read book 7 because I like my own ending better.

I just want Harry to fuck Hermione and get it over with.....

I think it's unlikely that they would release the new book and next movie at the same time.  Look for a late fall or holiday season release date for the book.

Well, based solely on prior experience with JKR's website, the release date generally comes out within a few weeks of the title. JKR enjoys teasing us like that.

Is knowing the release date and having it be a year or more off better than not knowing it and living with the hope that it might be released in 3 months?  [;)]

Am i the only one who thinks that the ending of Half Blood Prince was an elaborate ruse to protect Snapes work for the order?  ( i think Dumbledore was going to die anyway....because of whatever was eating away at his hand)....what better way to ensure Snapes  cover as a death eater, and to save young Malfoy.

You can sign up on Amazon and Barnes and Noble to be informed when they open up their pre-orders.

You're not alone. A friend of mine also suspects that Harry's parents will make a reappearance.

My friend Heidi, a Slytherin, is convinced that we'll see Snape redeemed yet. She says that when Dumbledore said "Severus, please" to Snape, he was asking Snape to keep Malfoy from becoming a murderer.

*laughs*  Well... not just kids read Harry Potter.  I happen to know that there are many who write and enjoy more "adult" Harry Potter stories starring an adult Harry Potter.

I gather you didn't read book six.

kisshou -> RE: Book Seven Has a Name! (12/23/2006 3:57:52 AM)

Now I always pegged Snapes for a good guy but poor Malfoy is a product of his upbringing. If JK kills of Harry she will become the most loathed author of a generation.

Nope, your not the only nerd....lol

i don't think she is going to kill Harry, but you never know. i just wish she'd hurry up and write....

Tell her you think Snape is going to turn out to be good.....
