OK- I got my order of how to speak 51 luanguages. Im trying to figure out which I want to try at.

If you could learn another language what would it be?

Does anyone here speak more then English?

I took French for 5 years, Japanese for 2 and Mandarin Chinese for 1/2 a year. Japanese was the easiest to speak but the hardest to write. I would say Spanish will probably stand you in the best stead in today's job market...

I speak French , while I don't speak Spanish, I can understand it and lastly Pig Latin :)
 
I'd like to learn Japanese

i can understand Spanish, and can speak it to a degree (very rusty). i also know some American Sign Language.

If i could learn any language, it'd be Arabic. Not only is it an interesting and challenging language, as is the culture, Arabic has a very high demand in the market, and will continue to have a high demand for years to come (at least a decade, i think).

well I speak fluent Spanish and English, I can get by with some French (took some in HS), and very rustic German (I took one year in High school)...now with more time I hope to re-study French seriously this time, and German....if I can master those two languages I will be happy. I also know how to order beer and food in Polish, as well as swear, but that doesn't count, lol.

I speak, read, and write enough Spanish for me to put it down as a skill on resumes, though it's been a few years since I studied it. Japanese is proving hard to teach myself and most of what I know from song lyrics and anime are simple words and some that are quite inappropriate. Because of research I did for a story, I can also swear nicely in French.

I can swear fluently in Spanish and Yiddish, and I know a few select words in several other languages.  I can insult people all over the word but I know very by way of a useful language aside from my native English.  Thank you, NY school system. I learned my spaish, and more swearwords from my multiethnic schoolmates than mot people ever utter in their lives.

 Having traveled extensively through out Mexico and Central America, I speak/understand Spanish well enough to travel by myself and not end-up in a shit hole.

The language I am determined to learn is French. In fact, I purchased the ''Rosetta stone'' French learning tools / cd earlier this summer.

I speak Dutch fluently and reasonable German and French, reasonably enough to read grown up novels and have adult conversations and yes 'adult' conversations too.

 Pretty good English, I can read and speak Polish, some French from high school, rusty German, ok latin, and a tiny bit of ancient Greek. I can sometimes understand Russian, but that depends on how fast they are speaking. :) If I could, I would like to learn Arabic and Japanese, maybe even Persian to round out the dead ( or not so dead ) languages. I adore linguistics, and I can usually be spotted as the only one on the Boston subway system with latin cross word puzzles. Geez, how nerdy, but I admit, I enjoy them.

erm....... well native english speaker here... i used to have a spattering of chinese from living in hong kong - which was 10 years ago - and at the moment i can only remember how to tell a cab driver how to stop and how to insult myself.  Oh and how to answer a phone!  I'm sure it could eventually come back to me...

i studied german for 1/2 a year about 6 years ago.  I've a smattering of spanish as well.  When i was living in Miami i could slightly converse (if they spoke slow)..... tho that was 2 years ago...... Oh! and i took spanish 1 in college - got an A - didnt learn diddly squat.  Havent learned anything about French past the basics. 

but if i was going to learn a language again - i'd pick German.

haven't seen anyone with this one yet.. I speak fluent Norwegian (talk about dying language..) and fluent english (of course) and some french and also read and write and undertsand danish and swedish.. and some icelandic (I think its the prettiest language ever..)

i speak english, finnish, spanish and italian... some hebrew, and french... and going to be taking up learning asian languages since Daddy will be going to Japan for 4 years.
