Well, intentional impurities......how apropos for CM! LOL! Down, everyone, there will be NO thread-jacking while I pass it to dcnovice. Yes, dc, I saw in your profile that you collect cobalt and that's why I choose that quartet. Cobalt is a deep, rich blue caused by purposefully adding salts of the chemical element cobalt to the hot glass. Ruby was thought possible to be made only from salts of gold (an impossiblity) That's the old alchemsit thought. Selenium does the trick nowadays. Emerald is usually copper salts (think the corrosion of the Satute of Liberty. Salts of copper => green) And what is known as Vaseline Glass (due to the original color matching petroleum jelly!) is created by adding minute amounts of salts of Uranium. Lance, Lance....... where do you get all this glassie-type of stuff? <Lance looks around his house and realizes he doesn't have a sofa because the living room, spare bedroom, dining room and most of his office is filled with.... oh, about 6,000 pieces of glass> LOL! dcnovice, you go! <P.S> How 'bout a nice FACE pic for me to go with your user name?
