ORIGINAL: shivermetimbers The only players to win a scoring title playing in the same league at the same time as Greztky? Got it! I'm sorry, guys, I really didn't think it would be that hard. Once I started dropping the clues, I really figured it would only take one hockey fan to figure it out. Bobby Smith beat him out during their last year in juniors, Cloutier beat him the only year he played in the WHA, and Lemieux and Jagr topped him in the NHL in the declining years of his career. Dionne technically belongs on the list too, because even though they tied for the overall points lead in Gretzky's rookie year in the NHL, Dionne won the title by virtue of having scored 2 more goals than Gretzky. I just went with the 4 who beat him cleanly, because the topic limits us to a list of 4, and those 4 are the most logical fit from that perspective. Nice work, Chief Inspector Shivermetimbers!
