i agree that man should have everything done to him that he has had done to others and then some.
Whilst i agree with the death penalty being questionable at times it only when rare cases of innocene later being proven . There is no one on this earth that can say he didnt do any of the atrocious things he did so i say give it him back ten fold [:@]

I think he should be set free to be allowed to continue his work of killing more of his citizens. He does a much better job than the US, because he doens't have to be concerned about the media coverage. I'm sure 60 Minutes will even profile him again, and talk about his humane methods of executions, tortures, and rapes.

Honestly, I dont give a rat's ass that they intend to hang him. The trial was all a political dog and pony show to parade Saddam in front of the people before they killed him anyways.

The fact that most media sources are splashing this on their front pages really makes me laugh. Its as if they are saying no one actually expected this verdict.

Saddam Hussein. Found guilty by the opposing extremist political party. What a surprise. [sm=whoa.gif]

Since many Iraqis are dead because we took him out or will die because of depleted uranium (especially the unborn), perhaps that is a good idea.. hundreds of 1000s would probably agree with me if our occupation hadn't killed them...

I do not like Saddam, but in the final analysis, I do not like any men with lots of weapons and the propensity to order their use against innocent people... Bush is just as bad

There's the crux of the matter isn't it? All of us, me included, think we should now be out of Iraq. One man had to make the decision based upon the information he had at the time. Being a man, he had prejudice as to what information entered into the decision and what information was discounted. The decision was made. No weapons of mass destruction, no consensus populous to take over the country. However many years late, we now are the all knowing experts of how to make a wrong decision based upon all that has happened in the years since. People who voted for the legislation that made the invasion possible now can shout about how wrong it is to be there; lost in the crowd of their positive vote to go there. Being allowed to not need a plan of how to accomplish that surrender by a like-minded media.

The disagreement is appropriate, and deserved. Pointing to the stubbornness and the egomaniac continuation of a mistake serves to move forward political discussion. Mocking disrespect for the office if not the man, polarizes and generates a misapplied backlash of commit transcending reason. The majority of votes cast are not for someone or something. Most people vote against something. On Tuesday there will be many people voting against the current administration, me included, voting against all incumbents at all levels; local, state, congress, senate. The question will be how many people were mobilized to vote against the vitriol of hatred against the man holding an office for a country that they respect.

     That's where you'll find my ballot.

     To the OP, hanging would be fine for the method of execution but I also think his body should be desecrated in whatever manner is most humiliating in the Iraqi culture, let people throw shoes at it, throw it to the dogs, whatever.

Dear SirDiscipliner69, Ladies and Gentlemen;
 
I think hanging is too good for Sadam Hussein, or any of those found guilty in mass killings, torture and such.
 
Now, if I was to be given liberty of being the executioner;  I would have the guy stripped, then take genital rippers (I do think the Inquisition period had some nasty ways) and tear his nipples off.
Then, drive a stake into his arse, to which will not allow him to void and a stake into the urethra.  Then I would have the guy buried alive, where only his head would be exposed.  That way people could exact their own form of justice on it.  The stakes will cause a slow painful death.
 
Or, hang him inverted, spreader bar, then take a saw (two man lumber saw) and saw him in half down the middle.  He will still be alive and feeling every bit of it, until he passes out around the chest area, according to historical accounts.
 
Or the worst punishment ever--be stuck with my mother for a week.
(CIA wouldn't take her--said she was inhumane treatment for the most terrible of terrorist...snaps fingers darn)

I suggest...Saddam...as well as Bushie Jr AND SR....plus Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle, Karl Rove, and all the US people who
were involved with selling Saddam weapons back in the early 80's get shipped to an Island that has nothing but coconut trees
and clubs for weapons.

Let them club each other to death and leave the rest of humanity alone and in peace.

Safe from no-bid contracts, weapons sales, oil pipeines and government terrorists..who have basically turned iraq into a toxic, depleted uranium wasteland.

There would be others to step in and take over where they left off. It is the way of things. Some of us simply choose to fly under the radar and live relatively anonymous and decently happy lives anyway.

Then we should make a law.

Anyone who starts a war (especially one not declared by Congress) has to fight in that war at the front lines.

That would solve the problem...instantly.

I am not someone to support the death penalty but he was responsible first hand for the torture and murder of soo many innocent people there should be a public hanging with as many of his victim's families present as possible.

He was never not going to be found guilty it was just a show trial. No one man can carry out such acts alone. I couldn’t care less if he hangs or not it was none of my business in 2003 and it’s none of my business now. So many other dictators exist why not go after them now that we seem to think it’s our place to force democracy on people who still settle disputes with violence even now. I think people have to find their own way; we hold democracy close to our hearts because the people that have fought and given it to us are our heroes from our history. The people of Iraq need their own heroes and their own key moments in history these can’t be supplied to them by others outside their own culture.

Noone wins either way. Hang him and his supporters will go on a rampage = more killing. Sentence him to life in prison his opposers will rampage = more killings.
