This last week can not go by quick enough,the Yankees position is all wrapped up so there is nothing to do but watch some football and see which way the wold card shakes out..Boston Sucks( just had to get that in....lol)

As was said on ESPN today(really wish I could claim this) Vick is simply doing a Phil Jackson...he is lobbying for the next call...unfortunately for him this isn't the NBA,this is the NFL and his whining is not going to be looked upon by his peers as anything less than a lack of machismo..thereby furthering the idea that he can be affected by being hit and hit often.For a guy that's game is dependent on large part on his ability to break and extend plays all he has done is embolden those who feel a late hit just might be worth it.

Well given his history it is understandable that some would,despite his seeming remorse for previous actions,wish him harm.....I myself have been guilty of wishing bad things to happen to folks simply 'cause they wear wearing Red Sox uniforms.Add to the usual team loyalty dynamic there are lods and loads of pet owners amidst our populace.
I am of the opinion that that is in the past and that he paid a high price for his sins...others don't see it that way...and I can not blame them in the least.

I dont blame them. But the hits I saw.... I can see his complaint as being valid.

Would you agree with a cop who doesnt protect someone from a mob because they are convicted of a crime?

No Tazzy I wouldn't.....but that is not the scenario I was commenting on...I was referring to the speculation that there just might be some observers who wouldn't mind seeing him get hurt.It goes without saying that the refs have a responsibility to do their job irrespective of their own likes or dislikes [:)]

Allow me to add something to that..I'm with the Mike(of Mike and Mike) who doesn't feel those hits were excessive or that their is an issue with the lack of a flag being thrown.Yes he got hit....just like Romo will be hit,or Manning...Brady etc,etc.
This is the NFL teams search far and wide for that quick,fast and agile end who can make a qb's life miserable...and consequently one of the higher paid positions is left offensive tackle...to protect the qb's blind side.
Nature of the game...stop whining Vick.It is a vicious sport,not quite as vicious as dog fighting....but vicious all the same [8D]

Mike also commented that it was true those like Brady would get those types of hit called while players like Vick would not.

Seems to me that indicates they knowingly decide wo should get penalized and who shouldnt based solely upon popularity.

Tazzy that is due,in large part,to the fact that they are different style qb's .Brady is a pure pocket qb,while Vick is a scrambler who by design extends plays with his legs...thereby inviting more hits.His propensity to hold the ball too long doesn't help either.Brady and Peyton anticipate openings and have quick releases....resulting in even less hits.Peyton and Brady stay upright 'cause their style of play takes the pressure off of their lines that Vick's style doesn't...
Add to that what Vick has just done to himself...he has told every defensive player that the hits are getting to him...why not risk a flag and maybe even a fine if you can take him out of his game...either mentally or actually.[8|]
