The Packers are favored by 3 playing away. The talking heads don't think the Bears defense can handle Aaron Rodgers and the crew. I hope they are right.

We didn't exactly blow them off the face of the Earth the first two times we played them this year, though. I expect to win, but I expect to be having a stroke every 30 seconds right up until the final gun, because I also expect it to be a very close and hard-fought game. This should be the toughest game we play all post-season, and probably all season period.

We would have beat them in week 3 despite 18 penalties. A fumble did us in.

Ravens are planning for the 2011 season. Everyone is curious if the team can crack past the ELITE 8.

Heading into the final 4, I'm curious to see how Cutler does in the NFC Championship. I have to give the JETS a nod over PITT because of injuries to the OL. The JETS have more playmakers than the Ravens, and I think Holmes and Edwards will make plays.

Roethelsberger, as always, is the X - Factor. He's the pocket passer version of Steve McNair -- with a better arm.

Yeah, that's one we should have won, for sure. But we didn't. The problem was, the Bears kept the game close enough that all it took was one mistake for them to win it. It can happen again this weekend just as easily as it did that weekend. We need to dominate this game; we can't let them keep it close.

All I want is a close game. Like many of us my hatred lies with the Vikings. Yes I loathe the Packers, but I also respect them.

Except for that nasty Forrest Gregg era.

I know, good times. I can not express enough, my joy in the Steelers hiring Tomlin. I didn't know much about him before his hire, but he seems to be the perfect coach for the franchise.

I just wish I didn't have a bad feeling about this game, but a degree of PMT* is inevitable.

To lose would be awful. The gift of having the game at home is awesome and helpful. Weather here is horrible, but I think the worst of it is over.

To be honest, I'm starting to wonder whether the Ravens can win with Flacco. They just might be the most talented team in the NFL overall, so it's not as though they're going to get much better anywhere else. (You've got future Hall-of-Famers at a few different postiions on that team.) Rock-solid coaching staff too, from what I can tell. So if they're going to improve, Flacco is going to have to make strides. Last year I thought Flacco was way ahead of Mark Sanchez, but now I wouldn't make that trade.

That said, the Ravens really should have won last week.

Anyway, I hope you're right about Jets-Steelers, and I also think the Steelers' offensive line is their obvious weakness right now. Roethlisberger was getting clocked last week. Maybe we can clock him a few more times. But the real key is Sanchez, as always: clean game, we win; crap in the bed, we lose.

I think another key is having Troy and Heath back, didn't have them the last time Steelers played the Jets. D is completely different with Troy in the mix. O is different with Heath, creates challenges in coverage and opens it up for other players. It will be interesting to see the difference with them in the game, as opposed to last time.

Aaron Rogers could only post 10 points against a Bear team that had nothing to gain by winning. The Pack was playing for it's playoff life, and the Bears went into the game with a meh attitude, an offensive coordinator who didn't want to give anything away, and a head coach looking to keep his starters healthy.

I expect a punch in the mouth, classic NFC North showdown, but wouldn't count da Bears out.

I know you live in the UK and may not know this.. but you can't point any fingers at Ben for his off field antics, in this game. Sanchez also was arrested for sexual assault when he was in college. Like Ben, nothing ever came of it. But they're evenly split on the sexual assault meter.

Here's my take on the sudden lack of "trash".Rex knows that you can hit that note too often......do so,and you run the risk of it falling flat.After the build-up to the Pat game....and the emphasis on the "we don't like them....and they don't like us "mantra it would ring false were it to be repeated again.
So now the tack is quiet(for the Jets) professionalism...wherein they have great respect for their opponet and high regard for their talents.
Once the game starts the natural order will reassert itself.Both these teams are physical.....and they both have a plethora of mouthy,trash talking ballplayers......most of whom will take your damm head off prior to verbally ripping you a new asshole.
All in all it should be a great game.
p.s. The Bears are the weakest of the remaining 4(an underdog at home...in the Championship game...unheard of!)
Packers....Jets play for the Lombardy.

Lovie said himself in the pregame press conference that his goal was to win and knock Green Bay out of the playoffs - I think the exact quote that he said he told his players was "if we beat them today we don't have to worry about beating them again in a few weeks" - and the Bears' players, in their pregame rally, shouted, "60 minutes - we end their season today and knock them out of the playoffs." There's no way Chicago didn't want to win that game, but if you Bears fans want to keep telling yourselves that, be my guest. You only have 45 hours left in your season; might as well milk the happy thoughts for as long as you can.

The answer to that question is unequivocally YES. The team has made the final eight in all three of his seasons.

This year he was the #7 rated QB (.93), #11 in yards (3600), in the top 10 in least INTs (10), and #10 in TDs (25) and completion pct (62.6). Keep in mind he's not quarterbacking a team set up to pass the ball like the Charges, Saints, Colts, and Eagles. Also, it was BAL's running game which had let down in 2010, not the passing game. (The passing game stayed at a comparable level to 2009.)

After the six (6) "elite" QBs: Rivers, Manning, Roethelsberger, Rogers, Brady, and Brees -- Flacco compares rather favorably to anyone else you could name.

I would comfortably rate Vick ahead of Flacco, but I would not give a strong nod to anyone else.

The better question is, will Flacco ever lead BAL to a Super Bowl Championship? All the recent SBs have gone to great QBs: Brady (3), Manning (1), Brees (1), Roethelsberger (2). Eli Manning is the lone exception, and his trophy was more powered by the NYG defense. Flacco is definitely more in the mold of Eli Manning than the others.
