ORIGINAL: KatyLied Check back after he wins some playoff games. Terrible parameters to measure a QB's talents, only slightly better than Super Bowls. Trent Dilfer > Dan Marino? It's certainly not valid as a singular, or even primary, determinant of a quarterback's overall worth, but it does have some value. A quarterback's ability to lead his team to success in high-pressure playoff games against quality opponents is a valid tool in measuring where he stacks up against other quarterbacks of similar stature. Brett Favre's miserable 4-7 postseason record in the last 13 years of his career is a big factor in keeping him off of my Top Ten of all time list, for example. Too many times, when the pressure was on, he folded. Contrast that with players like Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Bart Starr, and even Terry Bradshaw, who sometimes took their teams and drove them to championships simply by sheer force of will. Favre can have his stats and his regular-season records, but when you're 6 points down with a minute and a half to go in the Super Bowl, give me Brady or Starr any day.
