Glazer's comment that you quote was not in reference to Moss going to Belichick and bitching, he denies having any info that Moss and BB had a blow up. He said it in reference to Moss's presser after the Cincy game, and his trying to strong arm the Pats into a contract. He said that other Patriots have tried that route and Moss is trying it and it's the Patriots way if you bitch publically < about contract/negotiations> you're out. Mankins is in a contract dispute and had words with Kraft, he called Kraft out publically and he wasn't traded. And I am sure if he had words with Kraft he had words with BB.

Link to audio below.

I really don't think BB or any coach is that fragile that a player bitching is going to get him a ticket out of town. You may not like the man, but there have been plenty of shots of Brady and BB having words on the sidelines and others too, they didn't get traded. Nor will a call from the NFL get you booted out. I used that as the only rumor about Moss trending back to the old Moss that was substantiaited, because it was on vid and on mike.

Katy :

I think he did turn himself around for the most part and the things they are saying about his antics are pretty mild in my book, That presser after the Cincy game was no big deal to me, bad timing, shouldn't have done it when he did. But the meat and potatoes wasn't prima donna-ish to me. I think the fact that he wouldn't talk to BB on the plane ride home from Miami, when BB went to talk to him was childish as was his ignoring and looking straight forward when his team mates tried to talk to him. But really, it's not TO ish or the old Randy-ish. The part that bother me is that he said he was going to playout his last year in that presser and then turned around the same day/week and asked his agent to try and get him traded to Minn. And now there's rumor that he only did that for positioning in getting a new contract w/ the Pats and was depressed when he heard he was being traded. Who the hell knows. Unles Randy himself spills the beans today in his press conference, I think it will all be rumors as to why he really got traded.

I would have thought that Moss leaving NE as a free agent would have counted in the compensatory pick system, depending on what kind of contract he signed with his next team and what free agents NE acquired during its off season.

I agree with *maybe* that the pick would likely have been a 3rd or 4th rounder if Moss signed a good deal elsewhere.

The Tom Brady contract made him feel like chopped liver, IMO. Love for the QB and a cold shoulder to the WR is going to be a problem irrespective of the individual players or teams. The Ravens had to navigate Derrick Mason last season who "retired" as a stunt to try and force the club into an extension. The team got him back on the field for the last year of his contract, and let him test the free agent market before resigning him. The business aspect of the game often does not comport with the loyalty and love players want to receive from management. This gets ramped up even more when a player thinks management is playing favorites.

In the Moss case, I would readily agree that Moss did his part for NE. It had to be hard for him to see Brady get renewed and never hear his own telephone ring at all. Sounds to me that BB waited to long to smooth the situation over.

----

For a little levity, players are not always reasonable. The Ravens signed Ed Reed to a contract extension making him the highest paid safety in the league at the time. He's in the middle of that deal, and from the DL made remarks about how the team needed to extend him again, while his career is up in the air for health reasons. Wacky shit.

Excuse me, I have to go throw up.

The Pats are outstanding at picking talent.  Have no fear mbmbn, you still have the best porn name prettiest eyes in the NFL!  (Wes Welker!)

Randy Moss going to the Vikings is not good news for the Green Bay Packers.

What do you think of N.D. this year. will they be 500 or better?

Lordandmaster -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/7/2010 6:24:24 PM)

Today Adam Schefter is all about how the Patriots did this in order to get something back for him now instead of watching him walk away at the end of the year for nothing.

That says a lot. One of several things it tells me is that they had no intention of keeping him beyond 2010 anyway. (Otherwise they would have worked out a contract extension for him.)

Meanwhile I really don't think the Patriots are going to be very good this year without him. 9-7? Something like that. I just wish they had traded him to some team other than the Jets' next opponent. That doesn't seem like a coincidence...

LOL...Yes ! Yes ! Yes !

BB traded the best WR to the Vikes just in time to hopefelly hand a loss and piss off the Jets in a non conference game.

It's also true we won the 2001 SB due to a government plot to rally the country right after 9/11.

Ron Jaworski and Peter King point to the Patriots using a new offense of two tight ends with an emphasis on the running game. They also have a second year player named Brandon Tate who they think will stretch field. According to them, Moss was somewhat peripheral to the offense this year.

Collinsworth feels the departure of Moss will mean less opens space for the Patriots to run underneath routes.

Seems there is a bit of a nasty rumor surrounding Farve. All i know so far is that, supposedly, he sent naked pics of himself, from the waist down, to Jenn Sterger, a game hostess.

Has it been confirmed that it is actually Brett?  Some are saying it may be a third party who was posing as Brett.

WRs tend to be prima donnas, hence our love (hate) for them.

You can't swing a dead cat in an NFL locker room without hitting a half dozen prima donas. I don't watch much baseball but I do tune in to see the playoffs. After watching some of the baseball playoff games this week what struck me was the much higher level of sportsmanship and overall class in MLB. No overt celebrations after every good play. No choreographed dance routines in the dugout after a home run. No taunting of opposing players. The NFL is really very low rent compared to MLB. The prima donas are a big part of that.

No confirmation as of yet. She isnt talking... and he isnt either. seems all the info is third hand from her friends,,, strange they got the photos though.

im not sure what to make of any of this.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/9/2010 3:59:27 PM)

I know Tazzy it is a weird situation.  I would not be surprised if it was Brett though, a lot of guys in the NFL seem to be unable to control their impulses.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/10/2010 8:47:51 AM)

I heard on NFL Countdown that Sterger is cooperating with the NFL, with their " Fast track" investigation. Now there is a massauese who is claiming he did similar things.

I dunno...... should be interesting to see what comes of all this. If he is found to have violated Code of Conduct regs, I certainly hope he gets the same punishment as others before him.

I would be interested in the text and voice messages of these women to him asking him to stop. Why do i get the feeling those dont exist?

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/10/2010 1:06:35 PM)

I agree that if he violated the NFL code of conduct he'd better have the same punishment as others before him.  The Commish set the bar high in the Roethlisberger case and I expect to see the same thing when dealing with similar situations.

thornhappy -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/10/2010 2:21:16 PM)

* sob * Bengals!

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/10/2010 5:20:58 PM)

I'm not sure the NFL rules make any mention that the recipient of the unprofessional behavior has to object. I think that would be more along the lines of a sexual harrassment suit.

I'm with Katy, the bar was set with Big Ben, and if Favre escapes the equivilent punishment if he did violate CoC, I will be pretty disenchanted with the Commish.
