I'm not saying he isn't a player....and hell he might even someday develop into a middling pro qb....but he would have still been there later...why the reach?

The Tebow pick is indeed crazy; he's a 3rd round talent, and Denver didn't need him. I figured Miami would get him to use in their Wildcat.

Flcouple, IF Dez Bryant cleans his act up, he may be a fine WR; I just cringe when I see Dallas pick a "character", it makes me have flashbacks of Duane Thomas, Hollywood Henderson, etc. We really need a tackle, having just cut Flozell Adams.

Level,

The only real thing was just a little immaturity.  He never had any real problems and as long as he grows up some everything should be fine.  I think Jerry and the Cowboys put a lot of research and thought into this pick.  They'll get a safety or OL in the second, which wouldn't be any different from the bottom of the first.

Don't worry Free will be ok.

The cutting of Adams was truly a case of addition by subtraction...the man was like a cash machine that keeps on giving...for the opposing team....any DE with talent would induce a minimum of two drive killing holding penalties from Mr."grab 'em if you can't block 'em" Adams [:D]

flcouple: yeah, and the Lee kid from Penn State wasn't even the best LB to be had at that point. I'm surprised they didn't pick OT Bruce Campbell from Maryland. Oy vey.

Seriously, what was McDaniel's thinking?  Coaches are QB crazy.  I get that it is important position and everyone wants to either 1) draft or 2) develop the next franchise QB, but seriously, why not try working with what he has.  Maybe Tebow will be used as a receiver there, although, no not a first rounder QB as a receiver.  Hell, n/m he is nuts.

A great pick for Cleveland getting Colt in the third round...and Level save for the money he lost by dropping it just might not be too bad a place for Colt to wind up.Holmgren has some history with developing QB's....now if he would get around to firing Mangenius(not) they might be able to get something cooking.
