Steelworkers so I'm told (please confirm) this side of the water steelworkers are HARD , I'm told that makes them the favourites at your pastime,is this true?

Status: offline 		Actually the trick is to get away with as little padding as possible, in order to be lighter and faster. 
But yes, it is Steel and Birds in the SB, made even more special because the Cardinals are considered the "Pittsburgh West" team in the NFL, with some prior Steelers coaches/players in the organization.

In addition to his on-field skills, Lewis's personality makes him attractive to the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is said to believe Lewis could help solve the team's problems inside the locker room, the Sun reports.

wow.   Did anyone else get a chuckle over this?  I won't argue that he would've been a great teammate for Pacman Jones.

Status: offline 		How sad is this ? These guys put their life on the line for us everyday and the NFL can't even let them stay and watch the big game. I for one will be emailing Mr. Goodell to voice my disgust.

Status: offline 		Stay tuned....conflicting reports over whether the Chiefs are approaching Shanahan for head coaching job.  On ESPN radio it was noted that Pioli likes to run a quiet office and that there won't be a lot of blabbing to the media until it's a done deal.  Herm Edwards was classy in his dismissal.  I wonder when/if we will hear anything from Jon Gruden.

Status: offline 		Herm's always classy, but I'm starting to think he can't hack it as a head coach.  The last two years in KC have been brutal.  He has had terrible luck with QB injuries throughout his coaching career--I'll grant him that.

That reminds me: Why are so many head coaches former defensive backs?  Just off the top of my head: Herm Edwards, Tony Dungy, Mike Tomlin.  I guess the other thing those three have in common is that they're all black and they've all won games in the playoffs.

Inside the NFL pointed out something that went unnoticed during the live telecast.

When James Harrison was returning the INT, Larry Fitzgerald was in hot pursuit running up the white sideline (out of bounds) when he collided with A. Rolle who was stupidly (and illegally) in his way.

Warren Sapp said, "If Rolle had been sitting on the bench, then Larry Fitzgerald (unimpeded) tackles Harrison at about the 20 YD line, and PITT doesn't score a TD."

Status: offline 		Well the Steelers do have some red zone issues, there is no doubt about that.  I don't know if they need a stronger back for short yardage or need to mix up the plays (too predictable?), but it's not working and the kicker can't carry the team.  I am blissfully happy that Big Ben is now being noted, not for his lousy fantasy stats; but for what he is:  a great clutch QB, it's all about the win.

It has come to pass that the Pats have slapped the franchise tag on Cassel, should be interesting, if nothing else, if others decide to go after him, giving the Pats 2 first round draft picks.

Still feelin' the Steeler love...

Status: offline 		The Steelers need to draft a BIG fullback in the mid-ounds of the upcoming draft/
As to  the big INT.  Fiztgerald  ran "out of bounds"  that is the only reason he  caught up with Harrison. Good thing he did get "bumped" by Rollie. The play most likley would hve stood s ruled  a TD. Out of bounds means just what it says OUT of bounds. Once a player has laft the field of play he is no longer able to be involved in play. Fitz broke the basic rule of  in bounds out bounds.
It will still now be  known as not only one of the greatest plays in the Super Bowl  modern era but here in the SteelerNation it has been named the "Immaculate Interception"
I shall let the other fans here explain why that moniker will now be set in Steeler Lore.

Status: offline 		And now a bone  and a what-if to any one rooting for the birds. This is from the NFL network. 
After the acrobatic game winning catch by Santonio Holmes, he used the football as a saltshaker. Why? Who knows.  NFL rules state that the "sacred" football can not be used as a prop.
The refs did not see this. Their backs were turned. (if you taped the game watch it.
Had they seen it the 15-yard penalty on the ensuing kick-off would have meant the Steelers would have had to kick from the 15-yard line.
And now with 35 seconds and Curt Warner aiming for Fitzgerald. There is your true what-if moment.

And now for the Steeler Nation... What's with NBC not showing the tsunami of Steeler fans and their wving terrible towels in celebration  after  Holmes' catch?

Status: offline 		Just thought I'd stop by and say that I didn't watch the recent Superbowl and actually haven't watched one since 1994.  Yes I'm a Bills fan and after seeing them lose 4 straight, I haven't wanted to see another one - but will if the Bills make it back again.  I'm in the UK by the way but have played a bit of American Football myself so understand and appreciate the game, which whilst playing second fiddle to football (or soccer if you prefer), will always have a place in my heart.
