At least the Giants are going to the playoffs.  What the hell has happened to the Jets?

Apparently my Niners kicked their butts. It may be too late for this season but they're getting their act together. Thank God for Singletary and pulling the players together.

Yet, we sit at 10-3 and haven't clinched anything!

But you control your own destiny for a first-round bye and might be the best team in the AFC.  Right now, I'd still have to go with the Titans, but the Steelers have a good chance.  And with all the premature talk about Defensive MVP, my vote right now might be for Troy Polamalu.

Yes, we have our tough (and hated opponent) next week, The Ravens.  And Troy is having a great season, he's a great player and a great guy.

Yes, I am wondering if somehow the Ravens can leapfrog PITT by defeating them at home while PITT might aguably succumb to TENN the following week.

As for the JETS --- I can't say what's happened to them.

Peter King pointed out that in his opinion, the 2008 NFL draft produced the greatest haul of offensive players he's ever seen.

Matt Forte in CHI, Matt Ryan in ATL, Joe Flacco in BAL, Chris Johnson in TENN, Steve Slaton in TEX, John Carlson in SEA, Eddie Royal in DEN, Ryan Clady in DEN plus there is Felix Jone in DAL (Hurt), Ray Rice in BAL and probably some others I haven't even mentioned.

Too bad LEVEL is not around to explain what's happening in DAL. I suppose Caitlyn will have to fill his big shoes.

Amen. You gota love Samurai Mike.

There was a thread on the ESPN message boards last night suggesting that if Singletary is not given a three year deal - The Yorks should be assassinated {it was pulled}. Of course if you're a longtime fan, you're well aware that the Yorks are not only hated by the fans, but also by all the local sports media personalities and writers.

*laughs*

I guess you can call me a long-time fan. My dad still tells the story of how I cut my teeth on a ball he got from a game at Candlestick in the 60's. And we were always Niners fans than Traitors, errrrrr, Raiders. It's how we spent many a Sunday, going to games or watching them. Saturdays were spent working on cars or riding motorcycles.

(And people wondered why I wasn't a typical girl.....)

Being a looooooong-suffering JETS fan, I can tell you that we are used to this.

The JETS are the NFL's version of the mutts ... errrrrr ... METS; every once in a while, they show great promise only to dash our hopes to bits. It's nothing new. It's expected.

Wake me up from my NFL coma when the JETS finally make it back to a Super Bowl (I leave the hope of winning one to my grand children). Webe Eubanks should burn, forever!

I've been a Jet fan for as long as I can remember (back to the days of Wesley Walker), and I can't figure out what's wrong with them.  I'm pretty sure Kris Jenkins is hurt (he was knocked down during the Titans game and said he was fine, but has played like crap the last two games), and the secondary was never their strength, so I can see why they're giving up points, but I don't understand why offensively they have suddenly become so ineffective after scoring 30+ points in three straight games, two of them against pretty good defenses.  And Favre has been pretty inaccurate lately.  Taking all the games together, I don't see him as much of an upgrade over Chad Pennington.  (We were glad to get rid of Pennington because he's a schmuck, not because he's a bad quarterback.)

Eh, Raiders had some good fights on the field too though in the late 70's and early 80's, before they moved down south and wussed out. That's when Pastorini and then Plunkett were QB'ing for them. Trying to stop the Raiders line then was like trying to stop a steamroller....  From the ground.
