~fr~  I have to admit I selfishly am thankful that Favre has started this commotion.  I have so missed football, what with being a Mariner's fan (ok ya have ta feel sorry for me on that one), baseball season can't get over quick enough.  Þ  And training camp starts in a couple of weeks and well I am just so damned excited about football!!!  LOL

Former Philadelphia Eagle Vai Sikahema pounds former Oakland A Jose Canseco:

quote:

ATLANTIC CITY - The former Bash Brother got his head bashed in Saturday night.

In less time than it takes to round the bases after one of his moon-shot homers, Jose Canseco was knocked out by former NFL return man Vai Sikahema in their celebrity boxing match that was equal parts "Saturday Night Fever" meets "Road House." How's this for star power - 1993 Phillies World Series goat Mitch Williams was ringside for the main event.

Sikahema, who was an amateur Golden Gloves champ during his youth before starring in the NFL, rocked Canseco with a devastating left hook in the first 30 seconds that dropped the former slugger to the mat. After a brief recovery, Canseco withstood another flurry of punches from the "Tongan Terror" before falling like a timber and mercifully ending his night.

Peyton's knees are going.  Surgery, will be out for training camp and most of preseason.

I see the Colts lost to Kansas City in the preseason opener, the regular season start is but a month away. Friday, Seattle's up against the Vikings... and I'll be watching.

Does anyone think that the preseason matters? If you're into NFL football is the preseason like an appetizer for you? Do you ignore it? Or do you really get into it.

I like hearing reports from traning camps, and of course the trade dramas, but I don't really care until the first real game.
Will two veterans be competing for the starting job in Tampa?

It only matters in that it can decide playing time. I get happy when the preseason starts, and watch the games, but don't get into it until the regular season starts.

I'm happier when preseason starts, then get even happier when the regular season is underway. Maybe I'll upgrade my TV this year! I got a nice surround system last year. The neighbors know when Seahawks football is on...

Definitely upgrade the TV; a couple more years, and it'll be time to do so here

It matters if you're undrafted free agent or a late-round pick.... Pre-season is where all the youngsters make their bones.

My day as far as the internet goes, always starts out with me reading all the ''camp notes '' first.

Pennington would be a great fit in Minnesota, playing indoors will minimise his arm weakness and Adrian Peterson will maximise his play action capabilities.

the colts lost because most of their starters are injured...peyton may not even start week 1...he's out atleast 4 weeks.  although preseason starters only play first quarter...if that.

Pennington to the Dolphins.

In Steeler news, Charlie Batch broken collarbone.  Out 4-6 weeks (I'm thinking 6, it's his throwing arm), we're looking for a veteran to serve as backup.
