It looks like you are getting a suspended player.  Jeff Fisher is probably glad to get rid of him.

He's been arrested six times and has been involved in 12 incidents requiring police intervention. Not all are settled, either, which is part of the reason his status is in limbo.

It's raining in Dallas

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (4/27/2008 2:56:18 AM)

Yeah, I just listened to Tony Dorsett on the radio, he points out that Dallas has strip clubs like most other cities have 7-11s on every corner [:D] Jailbird must be salivating at the thought of coming down here.

Oh well. Maybe he'll get his head out of his ass long enough to help deliver another title to us, then he'll fuck up and get permantly booted, and spend the rest of his life at the Gold Club and on WWE.

PITTSBURGH -- One of the people who played the part of Pittsburgh Steelers mascot Steely McBeam has been fired after a DUI arrest.

Pittsburgh police said they arrested 24-year-old Kenneth Hahey on charges of driving under the influence in January.

A Steelers representative said the team has fired Hahey, who has a court date scheduled next month.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - Jay Cutler realizes he should have recognized something was wrong last season when lost 35 pounds and some zip on his famous fastballs.

“I had no energy,” the Denver Broncos’ third-year quarterback said Friday. “We thought it might be stress and the grind of going through a whole season. But once I got back here and started working out again, I just wasn’t making any improvement. I wasn’t getting any stronger. I was still losing weight.”

Routine blood tests that are required before players participate in the team’s offseason strength and conditioning program revealed the answer: His sugars were about five times higher than normal.

IRVING, TX—Upon hearing that team owner Jerry Jones had traded draft picks to the Tennessee Titans for troubled cornerback Adam "Pac-Man" Jones, Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens held a press conference to discuss his personal misgivings over acquiring a troubled player whose me-first personality and history of off-the-field issues could potentially damage the team.

"I think my character speaks for itself," Owens told reporters after arriving late to the press conference in his custom Hummer, which he parked on the sidewalk directly in front of the Texas Stadium press entrance. "You all know what I think of players who are locker-room distractions, who can't play with the team, who always have to be in the spotlight. I'm warning you—this 'Pac-Man' guy has the reputation of being one of those self-centered types no one can stand."

"You heard it here first," Owens added, taking time to glare at each camera present for at least 10 seconds. "From me, TO. No need to ask any else. That's it. That's all. That's the final word, everything the best wide receiver in the NFL has to say. Period."

If I had to dress up like Steely McBeam I'd drink to excess too.

: -(  I like Jay Cutler.  It's sad to hear that he has type 1, that is the worst to have, it can wear down your organs and you need to be highly motivated to completely change your lifestyle.  It probably will help that he's in good physical shape going into this.  Athletes with diabetes can have careers but they need to be able to micromanage their illness.

Typical stance for Jay

Yeah, Type 1 is tougher. You have to be so much stricter with everything in order to really control it. Now, Type 2 (like mine) can do the exact same damage to you, if left uncontrolled.

I wouldn't throw any money on it.....but I think Adam will help the Boys and basically stay out of trouble. The gangster /pseudo-thug shit you eventually outgrow....it's not like he's hooked on the glass pipe...

I'm not a Cowboys fan.....but I wish a guy like Adam Jones well and hope he lives up to his true potential. It's good for the game.

I hope he lines out too, R. Not just for the Cowboys' sake, but for his own. There's no reason the guy can't be in several Pro Bowls.

The Ravens are smacking each other around in mini camp!

Feisty Ravens

As well they should.

Here's the schedule..... you open against the Texans, we get the Browns in Cleveland. Better in September than December.... [:D]

Our schedule sucks the big, long, thick, hairy one!  It's a thing of ugliness.  ::sob::

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (5/11/2008 6:16:50 PM)

Yes, you narrowly edge out the Colts for toughest one. Dallas plays the Girl Scouts (twice), and the AARP All Stars once.

Level - your boy attempting to sing Take Me Out To The Ballgame", whoever came up with that plan should be shot.  He can't carry a tune.
