ORIGINAL: caitlyn Talking smack is the only thing NFL football is good for. [;)] I feel pretty bad for Tono Romo, because his receivers dropped two touchdowns, he had no time to throw in the second half, and even with that, the pass before the last interception was a perfect, game winning, touchdown throw, and the receiver just stopped running. I'm ok with Tony and Jason going to Mexico on vacation, but Crayton & Reeves spending ten straight days on a bender in strip clubs, was clearly a problem. I agree. Many football fans are rung below spoiled, petulant children. If the DAL faithful has any problem with ROMO, they should just remember back to the parade of nameless, faceless QBs who succeeded Aikman. DAL has a great team. Now the trick is, can it be upgraded a little more and have a bit of fortune bounce its way? The Ravens won the SB in 2000 and had a great core of players together --- but the moves after that year were ineffective in bettering the team. Then in 2002 the salary cap dictated a purge and the organization was bounced back to square one. On the flip side, signing Shannon Sharpe and Sam Adams were moves that propelled an unforeseen SB run, as each contributed Pro Bowl performances. This year DAL has two #1 picks in the draft --- so their front office will be in a position to make some moves. If they can bring in three studs at key positions who are ready to contribute now --- a Super Bowl will be within their grasp. Going back to ROMO, you are absolutely right. QB struggles are always related to many contributing factors: pass protection, receivers, play calling, and the running game. Its always hard to know what went wrong. Did the QB hold the ball too long or did the OT collapse trying to make his block. BAL QBs have really struggled, but part of that has been a below average pass-blocking line, a feature back with stone hands (Jamal Lewis), and average wideouts. Defenses could then effectively stack up against the run (8 men in the box) or blitz rather effectively. Who gets the blame, the QB.
