What kind of a training aid is depression. Wouldn't that hurt more than help?

It seems like an odd motivational tool.

It's a put up or shut up technique, I think.

Think back to when you were younger.... did you ever  have someone bully you? If so, think of how it felt..... to be picked on. Over, and over, and over..... you either busted their ass, or crawled into a hole, but you got away from the bullying, one way or another. Tomlin's counting on his guys choosing the former.

Yeah, he wants to induce some fighting spirit in them.
I know nothing about coaching or motivation though.  But Ben is highly annoyed.

I fucking hope so, but, alas, it might not happen.  SD played really well over the last 4-6 weeks, but I've said before that I don't think they can contend with Rivers as their QB.  That leaves Indy as the only team that can challenge the Patriots.  I'd give them about a 30-70 chance right now.  But they have a chance.

Now I'm wondering if either SD or IND has enough game to take out NE.

Well, he should be annoyed; the Jags thumped them on their home turf. Best way to fix that? Kick Jax's nuts up between their ears [8D]

Did Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans coaches have an under-the-table agreement at the end of last Sunday's game?

Tennessee quarterback Kerry Collins said on WFAN Radio on Thursday that the Titans kneeled at the end of the game Sunday because they knew the Colts wouldn't call a timeout.

With Tennessee leading 16-10 and needing a victory to make the playoffs, the Titans had originally called a running play, Collins said. But the team changed to a kneeldown when he was told over his headset that the Colts wouldn't call a timeout, which would have possibly forced the Titans to punt with less than 20 seconds left in the game, Collins said.

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Ten seasons, seven Pro Bowls and maybe one last game.

Few players in Pittsburgh Steelers history have performed as well in a career as Alan Faneca, arguably the NFL's best left guard and a lineman whose personality and work ethic seem a perfect match for the franchise.

Faneca is a team-first player in a sport that has increasingly become me-first, the steadiest of players in an unstable profession where one bad game can ruin a season or a career.

"My agent kept telling me before the (1999) draft he had a feeling I was coming here," Faneca said Thursday. "He kept saying, `I think you're a fit, that's where you're going to go,' and he was right. I think I fit that Steeler mold, I guess."

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Bills quarterback J.P Losman wants out of Buffalo, unhappy with how he lost his starting job to rookie Trent Edwards this past season.

Losman's agent, Gary Wichard, told The Associated Press on Friday that his client would prefer to be traded, but added Losman would play out the final year of his contract if necessary. Wichard said he has not yet spoken to the Bills because the team is seeking a new general manager after Marv Levy stepped down earlier this week.

Whether the Bills choose to keep Losman, Wichard said he didn't see any chance of Losman remaining with the team after next season.

"That ship has sailed, my friend," Wichard said. "Hopefully, they do something this year. And if not, we'll just walk away after next year."

Level, a lot of people will hate to see Faneca go.  He will most likely be lost to free agency.  I will be surprised if he gets the contract he wants at Pittsburgh.  Plus they have bigger fish to fry, actually the biggest, Ben.  There is talk that there is consideration of extending his contract (re-signing him 2 years early).

If I were Ben, I'd give up some of that huge increase he's likely to get, in order to keep Faneca around; self-interest can be more than just making money! [:D]
