Only saw bits and pieces of the game tonight. I was at the casino with my sister and we would stop by the book and check out the game.
Congrats, Level. Your Cowboys are going to be making a serious play off run. Terry Glenn is coming back soon, no ? Hmm, another toy for Romo to play with.

Brett Favre reverted back to what he was doing the last couple of seasons. He kept forcing the ball and throwing interceptions. Plus they don't run the ball.
It is pretty obvious that Dallas is the better team at this point. (I hate saying anything good about Dallas! Lol). What's with Terrel Owens? Dropped a few balls tonight.
Rodgers did pretty good on short notice. Too bad Green Bay couldn't stop Dallas.

Yep, Favre went back to being "Bad Brett" .

I feel asleep on the couch during the third quarter.  Major question here, does the backup qb for Green Bay have a mullet?  Did I actually see a mullet?

I liked the one that he lateraled to the DB in the end zone. The commentators said he still had some butter on his fingers from his stunt with the popcorn earlier. heh

it's do or die for Da Bears against NY Giants Sunday if they want to chance for the playoffs. i predict it's going to be another exciting and close game.

psst, Giants, just kick the football dead center for Hestin to catch and leave you in the dust  *weg*

I think it was something like 7 catches, 156 yards, one touchdown.  I know he had 21 fantasy points, which means 150+ yards and a touchdown.

But he's not even close to being the best receiver in the NFL.  Crazy drops!  Not the most accurate route-runner, either.  I hate to admit it, but Randy Moss is the best receiver in the league right now.  Braylon Edwards is also very good, as is T.J. Houshmandzadeh.  None of these guys can hold a candle to Jerry Rice though.

Good to see a Lions' fan here; your crew has made some strides in the right direction this year.

Ut-oh, Katy....

The NFL and the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to start their Monday Night Football game without the National Anthem according to the Denver Post. Bad enough football has taken away all our free time in the fall and early winter. Now, it's going to take away our patriotism?   This time, it seemed like the NFL had gone too far. The game between the hometown Steelers and hapless Miami Dolphins was delayed roughly 25 minutes because of horrendous weather. Understood. The rain drove with the intensity of a hurricane residue. There were frightening lightning strikes, a strong wind, a swampland for a Heinz Field playing surface.

Everyone ran for cover, from the fans in the stands to the players on the field. But the Star-Spangled Banner was written with bombs bursting in air. Nothing's tougher than the National Anthem. The NFL hardly seemed worthy of its red, white and blue insignia colors by canceling America's most honorable song so the show could on two minutes less late

They are putting down an extra tarp over the field.  Rain/sleet/snow advisory for tomorrow.

None of these guys can hold a candle to Jerry Rice though.

Making comparisons of different players playing for different teams in different eras is always difficult. Not to deny Jerry Rice any glory, but in his career he had two HoF QBs throwing him the ball: Joe Montana and Steve Young. He also played for the best team of its era.

Randy Moss, on the other hand, played for the Vikings his first seven years in the league. Minn declined in his seventh year, I don't recall if he was injured or if his play was affected by something else in year seven (7). In his 8th and 9nth years Moss was in OAK when the Raiders were an organizational laughingstock. Also, by no coincidence, Culpepper's carreer nose dived after Moss left MINN.

So, what I decided to do was compare Randy Moss with Jerry Rice through their first six years of play in the NFL, when each was arguably on a good team. This would allow for a reveiw of their stats that might more accurately measure them against one another as receivers over an appreciable period of time.

Here is the comparison:

First Six Years in the League:

Rice: 446 rec.; 7,866 yds.; 17.6 avg.; 79 TDs

Moss: 525 rec.; 8,375 yds.; 15.9 avg.; 77 TDs

Statistically each is phenomenal. I'd have to say its a toss up to decide who is better than the other. In this comparison model Moss does hold a candle to Jerry Rice. They are, in fact, equal peers. Rice has a slight edge in TDs and yards per catch, but Moss has more rec's and more overall rec. yds.

Looking at these STATs and having seen OAK play in 05 and 06, its no wonder Moss is a new man in NE.

I don't believe Jerry Rice in his 10nth season could best the year Moss is having.

In SF, you had the dink and dunk west coast style, and the bombs away in Minnesota; Rice did a great deal more once he had the ball, after the catch yardage. But yeah, he and Moss are pretty damn close, cb.

Assuming each receiver is healthy, its a toss up between Rice and Moss performance wise.

Attitude-wise, however, Rice was better for a team's organization.

Moss did not end up in OAK by accident.

So what are the odds for the 0 - 11 Dolphins to get a Wild Card and take it to the Super Bowl? Don't laugh, just tell me what it would take?

It would take more money and blowjob giving cheerleaders than Miami has to offer.
