ORIGINAL: Level IRVING, Texas (AP) - Suspended defensive tackle Tank Johnson practiced with the Dallas Cowboys for the first time Friday, disappointed that commissioner Roger Goodell didn't shorten his eight-game ban but glad to be back on the field. Johnson was signed by Dallas after getting cut by the Chicago Bears and can't play in a game until Nov. 11 against the New York Giants. He said he'd hoped Goodell would agree to shorten his suspension for violating probation on a gun charge to six games, but will settle for the three weeks of practice he was granted. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7350032 Let's hope that C. Hill can help get this kid on the straight and narrow. He should be a great addition if he can behave himself. With Freg on IR we need the depth on the point. Tank was an awesome run stuffer. And to be able to use J Rat as end backup is a big need. We still need another cover corner to stop the three plus receiver sets. the zone D was blistered by NE and teams like the Colts will do the same thing. And was it ever obvious that Terry Glenn is missed to stretch these D's like NE.... Let's hope that ex QB (Stanbeck) learns quick so he is able to be the speed WR we need.
