The bye has hit us at a great time this season.  Only one loss, coming off a win where some of our premier players sat out.  This gives the injured extra time to heal.  And a bye means if it doesn't rain, I can hang out with my bike on Sunday.  I'm thinking of packing a picnic for one.

But I need info, when is the NE Dallas game?  I hope it's a later one.

Okay, I checked it out.  The NE vs Dallas game is 4:15pm.  This is the game not to miss this weekend.  Both are 5-0, Romo is coming off a horrid game, and he'll probably be good again on Sunday.  But I'm not sure anyone can beat the Pats.  I don't think they'll go undefeated, but they are the team that everyone wants to beat.

IRVING, Texas - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo’s father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“You just love your dad, you want him to be all right,” Romo said Friday. “It’s just part of getting older, and it happens to a lot of people. So, it’s just another step in the path of life.”

Ramiro Romo, 50, found out he had cancer just days after he and his wife were at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sept. 23 watching their son throw for 329 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-10 victory over the Bears. They will be at Texas Stadium on Sunday when the Cowboys play the New England Patriots in a much-hyped matchup of 5-0 teams.

Winning is its own reward. It is also its own punishment.

For a prime example of that, look no further than the New England Patriots.

Seven years of sustained excellence has won them three Super Bowls. But in the process, it’s turned them into the NFL’s big, mean football machine, the team everybody roots against.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21257747

IRVING, Texas - Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips insisted Friday that he never said that New England’s three Super Bowl championships were tainted.

Two days before the already much-hyped matchup of 5-0 teams, when the Patriots play in Dallas, Phillips denied making such comments after New England coach Bill Belichick was fined $500,000 and the team lost a draft pick for videotaping an opposing sideline this season.

“I think it’s ludicrous to demean a team, an organization that has done a great job and won all those games, and deserved every bit of it,” Phillips said. “They won all those championships. They deserve every bit of what they got.”

Just getting back from Mexico. Watched the Pats game and the Cowboys game last Sunday at an open air sportsbar in the little town near our resort. My brother in law, Dallas fan, was yelling so loudly during the first quarter, I thought the Federales would come arrest him. It was a good time down their watching the games w/ folks from all over the US and Europe.

I heard about Romo's Dad. The good news is many many prostate cancers are very treatable/curable. Let's hope that is the case here.

4:15P ! There will probably be a lot of ugly words flying around the house today as sister and I will be our usual homer selves and brother in law will be critisizing every move Dallas makes. He mystifies me, he thinks they suck this year, despite the record.

He thinks the Cowboys suck?  Wow, I think you should slap him...I mean yes, they were pretty bad last week, but I fully expect them to be back on the game today.

Hey mb  It should be a good game, but Dallas has to be sharp, or a blowout could occur.

I'm glad you enjoyed Mexico, we've wondered where you were.

I bet we were just lulling the Pats into a false sense of security, last week.

I am too, missy, as long as Dallas wins  I see the two teams being pretty equal, in terms of talent, but the Pats have a huge advantage in experience.

Oh, I never said I "loved" the Pats, lol, but I am fond of them,

however, I do have stronger feelings towards the Red Sox though, lol.
