Yeah, Tomlin also had comments about it

Tomlin said the Steelers have methods to protect against spying, but he wouldn't reveal them. "We like to keep our methods private so we can continue to be successful," Tomlin said. "We don't spend a lot of time worrying about that, but we are sharp enough to protect ourselves versus the potential of something like that happening against us. "Really, this is nothing new. You see offensive play callers covering their mouths, that's been going on for a long time, and that's the reason that's done."

Hmmm. Jason Ferguson is out for the year

quote:

IRVING – As the Cowboys look to bolster their nose tackle position with Jason Ferguson out for the season with a torn right biceps, former Chicago Bears tackle Tank Johnson's name has come up, according to sources.

On Tuesday, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones would not comment on the team's potential interest in Johnson, who is serving an eight-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, but acknowledged that any player's off-field behavior is discussed.

The Jets refused to give left guard Pete Kendall a $1 million raise this season because he still had three years remaining on his contract, ultimately trading him, but they've done just that with Brandon Moore. The veteran right guard has signed a new contract that will raise his base pay this season to $1.8 million, according to an NFL source - coincidentally, a $1 million raise.

The breakdown of the contract wasn't immediately available last night, but it's believed that Moore, unhappy with his previous deal (which went through 2010), is now under contract through 2013. Moore, 27, is the longest-tenured member of the offensive line. He left training camp for a half-day as a form of protest, and now he has been appeased.   On the surface, the Moore deal conflicts with the organization's philosophy of waiting to rework contracts. With Kendall, the Jets refused to budge, leading to a summer of acrimony. They dealt him to the Redskins, who gave Kendall the money he was seeking.

Hey Level :

No idea what it will be. I really won't be surprised if BB gets a suspension in addition to a second round pick.

I am going to cross post this here and in the Pats-cheaters thread. I have alot of negative feeling to all the Johnny come lately's who are now chiming in that .. ohh yea we suspected/knew it too. Sorry Katy. I think it is very convenient to take the moral high ground, yet admit you knew about it and did nothing. BUT the biggest offender is Mangini himself in my book. He worked for BB, he knew and was pretty much a lock to have been in on the videotaping. It has been pretty well established that he knew and worked with the videographer he turned in Sunday.
Anyway, this article from the NY Post pretty much sums up my thoughts on Mangini.. My thoughts on BB were posted a few times earlier. I am not giving him a pass or making excuses.

MANGINI:  HERO OR HEEL?
Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News reports that the Patriots' efforts to videotape defensive signals was brought to light by former New England defensive coordinator Eric Mangini, who shared the information in 2006 with members of the Jets' organization.
"When Eric came, he said that's what they used to do," a source told Cimini.  "Bill [Belichick] is going to be [ticked] at Eric.  He kissed and told."
It would be easy to proclaim that Mangini did the right thing, ignoring the good-old-boys' network and bringing to light Belichick's dirty little secret.
But it would naive to do so, too.
Mangini didn't blow the whistle when he first learned of the situation, while Mangini was working for the Patriots.  Instead, he took advantage of the competitive advantage, and parlayed it into a head-coaching job of his own.
And then Mangini blew the whistle in a manner that will eventually create for him a competitive advantage, since it will result in the imposition of some sort of a sanction on the Patriots.
But should Mangini be allowed to have it both ways?  And did he bother to consider whether bringing this situation to light might indirectly call into question his own credentials to be a head coach?
Meanwhile, there's talk in league circles that Mangini will find it very hard to win the trust of anyone in the NFL moving forward.  Even though Belichick has no cause to gripe about getting caught under circumstances where he knew that the opposing head coach knew what Belichick was doing, the truth is that anyone who chooses to confide in Mangini now or in the future will do so at his own peril.
Keep that in mind, Mike Tannenbaum, if/when you ever consider doing something like, say, contacting the agent for a player who is under contract with another team.

I will expand.  I'm already getting tired of this topic.  Hines Ward has now reacted to this story as well.

LOL, Katy. I read that last night. As well as Precious Brett Farve's comments and a plethera of other people hopping on the " I knew, I knew " bandwagon. I think the feeding frenzy will die down a few weeks after Goodell passes his punishment on the Patriots.

I'm actually getting a sadistic kick out of all these " I knew, I knew " people who say they have known for years, and it was common knowledge. One of my faves is a former Steeler's coach < Hoak > who is telling a story that  years ago they recieved a suspicious tape from an unamed team during routine film exchange. The tape involved filming hand signals. What did he/they do about it?  Ummm, nothing.

While I do not agree with rule breaking, it seems like it really has been going on thru out the NFL for a long time. I didn't buy that story when it first came out in regards to the BB debacle. But all these " I knew, I knew " heros are just re enforcing that.. ya, it has been going on for years, it's been covered up. And that is not a great message to be putting out there.

God hates those people who think they are being precious...By mocking those that are truly precious....

If Brett said "He knew."  Then he did...You can take it to the bank.  He is that precious.

Betch! That might sound like penance if it was announced anywhere else but a BDSM site -- instead it sounds like yer gonna party!

Game Day!

The Cowboys had mechanical problems on their plane trip to Miami.
The Steelers have the most female fans!
Will The Pats will move beyond their troubles by kicking LaD's ass today?

I'm having a little get together for a few friends tonight and we have all called in late to work tomorrow. lol

I'm running down to one of the resturant/bars near the stadium to hook up with a few Pats and Chargers fans from one of the MB later today.

Good luck everyone. I'll have the tissues handy if we need them.
