Did you (GB) go into OT?  The Steelers were smoking today.  And the announcers kept saying the "innefective Charlie Frye", long after he left the game, not very nice.  The Browns flubbed punt early in the game that garnered 4 penalties.  I almost peed my pants.

domiguy -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (9/9/2007 1:36:04 PM)

Eagles muffed a punt on a really...REALLY stupid play...The guy dove for the punt for no reason...Pack recovered kicked the winning field goal with a few seconds left....The Pack are Super Bowl bound....Where you are just simply bound and going nowhere.  I love you and your tits.

Patriots were outstanding today. Ellis Hobbs broke the NFL KO return for TD record. < 108 yards> It was a thing of beauty ! Welker was as good as I expected him to be and Moss looked like he did when he was with the Vikings. I may have to throw him the obligatory kudo bone if he stays as he was today. I was most impressed with our O line, Brady had all day to throw and was untouchable. Defense was tight, and Harrison and Seymour's absence was not the concern I thought it would be. Green and Vrabel looked like they took on the leadership roles in their place.

I got a really sick queazy feeling when I saw the replay of Pennington's injury. I was appalled at the NY fans cheering his injury.  He came back in the game after being taped up, and probably shot full of lidocaine. Not sure that was a good move on Mangini's part. Pennington was obviously hurtng/limping/ favoring his leg the rest of the game. I'll give him marks for toughness.

Big Ben on Tomlin, post-game:

''You can see the excitement in his eyes,'' Roethlisberger said. ''He really doesn't get rah-rah. As a player you like that. He's calm. You don't have to worry about getting yelled at or spit on or getting stuff thrown at you.''

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (9/9/2007 4:58:56 PM)

I just saw both of them on Fox. And got to see highlights of the game. Ben looked to be back in his old form.  I liked Tomlin's press conf. from what I saw.

Was Ben comparing Tomlin to Cowher ?

How was my fave Steeler Troy P today ?

Troy was good, Hines had a late hit penalty, oops.  I took that quote from SI:

I'm trying really hard not to get too excited because we don't play the Raven or Bengals until the end of October/beginning of November, that will be the time of truth.

Kevin Everett, TE from the Bills, has a neck injury that requires surgery and from what is being said on tv, it sounds grim.

I saw the still pics of him being attended to, gave me flashbacks to Daryl Stingley. Thoughts and prayers for him and for a much better outcome.

It has to be frustrating to be a Lions' fan [X(] Not even an exploding Curry could halt your guys today, though.
