You might browse the section called Bondage Gear and Apparel. What is it that you're wanting to know?

Also, from what I recall, your first corset should be able to ultimately reduce your waist up to 4 inches.  So, if you have a 26" waist, your corset should be sized for 22".  Once you are there, then if you wish to reduce further, you need to purchase another corset, sized even smaller.  And so on, until you get to the point you wish to be.

It is possible to wear a corset 24 hours a day, which is preferable if you are going to seriously 'train' in that area.  Of course, take it off for the shower, then right back on.

It is always best to have a 'partner' of some sort to lace you in, rather than doing it yourself.

Not that I have any experience in this area, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

This is a site that I really like for corsetry.  The woman who makes them is a tight-lacer herself and seems to do very high quality work.  There are also links to other corsetry sites.

Wasp Creations is great.

I also recomend Blooddrop Corsetry, who made my most recent one (my primary picture here). Starkers is also supposed to be good, but I don't know. I've heard that Meschants has decent corsets, but bad customer service.

I'm not allowed to tightlace regularly, but I'm something of a corset whore. what kind of info were you looking for?

this is j, Daddy has given me instruction to answer this post.

Fetwear stockes traditional corsets made by Vollers, a company that has been making corsets for over 100 years.  Typically you buy a corset 4-6 inches smaller than your natural waist in order to have cinching capabilities, if you are softer in the middle, or are in the process of losing weight you may want to go 6-8 inches smaller than your natural waist.  All of Vollers corsets are made with steel boning that are capable of waist training, if you so desire.  (If you get into serious waist training you should be aware that your body will eventually need the corset as your muscles will atrophe.  Its a good idea to also start (if you're not already) a work-out program to keep yourself strong).  When you are looking thru the corsets at fetwear.com you will notice that each corset tells you the measurments in relation to the waist - if you are small in the chest you will need a different cut than someone who is large breasted, as is the same for hip measurements.  When you do find a corset that will work with your measurements you may then choose a fabric and colour for your corset.  If you need help figuring out which style will be best suited for you, please send U/us an email or give U/us a call (toll free) and W/we will be happy to assist you :)

I have to admit I've heared some bad things about Vollers corsets in the corset communities I frequent. I don't own one, so I have no idea, but what people I know say is that they're wonderful for smaller women, but that for larger women the shape in the hips simply isn't curvy enough and one ends up with the "sausage' look.

(this information is from the Corsetry community on Livejournal)

I have a Vollers one and love it.  I'm tall and find that many don't do longer corsets, my voller's one is long in the body which works for me.

I'd suggest that if you can you go to a shop/store and try on different styles to see which shape suits you best.

gallery serpentine offer excellent value and great customer service and their corsets are mmmmmmmmmm. i've seen a meschantes one i really like the look of so anyone with personal experience of their stuff.. feedback would be warmly welcomed.

and OP.... if you haven't done it before there's really something quite magical about getting into your first 'proper' corset, you can't help but feel wonderfully feminine... and that feeling of being hugged lasts well after it comes off too.

off to go hunt down some of my corsets now to lick them   ; )

happy hunting : )   x

I have a vollers, and I am not a small person - more average with a larger bust size.  I do not have any problem with it.

Having been the manager of a large fetish boutique on the east coast whose main traffic was corsetry, I'd have to agree with that sentiment.  Off the rack Vollers is ok for folks who are perfectly proportioned, or for a first cheapie corset for fetish wearing only, but it's not going to be an exceptional fit.  FIT is what inspires the wearer to continue wearing the garment, and this is especially important for waist training or for wearers who expect to be in their garment for hours at a time.  A corset that is not fitted properly, has pinch points, boning not working for the wearers physical attributes, or that is too long or short for the torso simply will not meet the customer's needs.

*nod*

I pretty much advocate someone getting a custom corset if they're seriously interested in corseting. I've had people say that the pricing is incredibly different, but if you look around one can generally find a newer corsetier, who's working on building his/her reputation and sells custom peices for as much or less than off the rack. My custom corset was $150, but someone who has a very good reputation. Blooddrop's corsets go for around $175. I've seen off the rack Meschantes corsets going for significantly more than that, not to mention Alter Ego Erotics etc.

Don't get me wrong, I dont' think that off the rack is necessarially a -bad- thing, especially if one finds one for an incredible price. But if one's laying down upwards of $100 for an off-the-rack, he/she, in my book, should look into custom corsets because they can be had for around the same price.
