I was very inspired by the couple that is celebrating their 35th anniversary as a D/s couple. I've been meaning to congratulate them, but can't remember the thread it was on. Let's face it, in any terms 35 years is an accomplishment, but in the D/s realm where relationships tend to be velcro'd together, this is truly a sucess story. On this board we tend to focus on the relationship failures, so let's talk about the sucesses. Let's prove that it can work. What is/was your longest D/s relationship? Is it your current relationship? How long have you been in D/s? For me: 6 years, 4 months. It's my current relationship. I've been in the life for almost 13 years.

Fox and I will celebrate 7 years the first week of October. Before him my ownerships post training lasted an average of a year at a time I'd say. I think in my 20s since I wasn't so settle yet my relationships tended to be with like folks so college finishes or jobs change plus I don't think any of them was ready to settle into the lifetime committment that slavery can be nor was I in a place where I could offer them a home in any sense. I think buying a house and really focusing on my two careers had helped me be able to create longer lasting Ds relationships as well as other relationships.

I've been in two seperate relationships that lasted 11 years each and one relationship that lasted 3 years. All D/s. Guess 11 is not my lucky number?

lets see my longest was 10 years ... I have been in the lifestyle actively over 15 years but it's been a part of me for the better part of 20 something years

OsideGirl. What a nice topic. There aren't many posts about the positive, and i like the idea of focussing on that for awhile. i have been in l/s for just over two years. i was very fortunate that very soon in i met my husDom. It will be 2 years for U/us within the month, and i know it is not long by D/s or vanilla standards, but i am thrilled as this so different and intense from any other relationship i've ever been in. i hope this thread comes up again and ten years and i can look back as happily on that milestone as i do on the almost two years i have enjoyed. aintbehavin

My longest D/s relationship was ten years with my first dom. Five in between seeking. Doug and I are going on 8 together in a few month's. So, I consider myself active in the lifestyle for almost 18 year's. When not with someone..I was hardly active. When I was searching I was astonished to find out most relationships fizzle after the first 6 month's when the hormones wear off. There really is more to a relationship than kinky sex.

Holly and I have been together for 7 years, living together for almost 6. D/s became a concious part of it about 5 years ago, but there was always some light play going on. Our first boy, rob, joined us almost 3 years ago.

I've been actively involved in this lifestyle for 18 years and interested in it for 10 years before that. My last sub and I lived together for 3 years.

With my first Master.. just over 10 years..... with second one.. just over 6 years. Single the past 10 years this coming halloween. Dated a few doms.. but nothing I wanted to continue.

I've been active about 16 years. I owned one submissive for 10 years. I've owned my current submissive for almost two years. My puppy is brand new, the relationship only a couple months old (though he says that he feels like he's been mine forever...Puppies! Gotta luv 'em. [8D])

Been in it in one way or another for most of my life, never really been in a relationship that didn't contain some elements of D/s. My last relationship with my ex husband/Dom, lasted for 15 years. After that, i just casually dated and spent time making friends and getting reaquainted with long time friends for about 3 years, then met my current Master, and have been serving him happily for 2 years, well as happy as one can be in an LDR, but when we DO get to physically be with each other, there are always more happy memories to add. In between time i play and date locally with those i am close to and have known for years, and in whom i trust. i can also add, that since i have become more active here on cm, i have met several new friends. Yup, 35 years on August 8th. We met our first month at University, and married the following summer, when we were both 19. Meeting was plain old dumb luck, staying together was plain old hard work, with Bill mostly in charge of the pushing and pulling and entirely in charge of the haulin' ass. We made it through three kids, ageing parents, grad school, unemployment, three big moves, and the women's liberation movement [:D]. A bit more seriously, I think having an established and agreed upon understanding of how power worked/ was exchanged in our relationship got us through a whole lot of things that derailed vanilla couples. We didn't fight about who unloaded the dishwasher or finances. When big issues came up, we had a way to approach discussing them and making decisions. When Bill felt the need to, urmmm, sow wild oats, he could do it with me, no matter what it was that he was itchin' to try. Another Susan

Started in 1997 and played here and there, nothing serious. Met my ex Master in 1999, the relationship lasted 5 years. The last two years i have been laying low, keeping up friendships made along the way, reading, going to a few events. Met someone fairly recently but it lasted less then 6 months.

My current relationship with alandra is going on since summer of 87... so about 19 years. Our relationship always had an authority transfer of decision making from her to me from the beginning. However, as we grew to understand each other the protocals, rituals and intense play evolved to what it is today. I expect we will continue to evolve and grow. My current relationship with kyra is temporarily a long-distance situation and our relationship begin a few months shy of 2 years ago. I have had one other significant relationship that lasted about 3 years that ended about 2 years ago. She lived with alandra and I for most of it. In the end, our values and needs where not compatiable and we parted ways.

My longest D/s relationship so far was 9 months and it is not my current relationship. My current relationship is going on 5 months and still going strong. I have been involved in BDSM in one way or another for a lil over 2 years.
