ORIGINAL: ChainedExistence That list of Kink Aware Professionals isn't all that much help when there's ONE listed for the entire state, and that one is 3 hours away! I talked to a doctor once that said while he was aware, he wouldn't necessarily want to put his name on such a list, so as not to shock his other patients. The list isn't important. The fact that you talked to your doctor about it is. What is to stop us from talking to our doctors and making them kink-aware? As I said above, you can do people in your local community a big favour and encourage your doctor to be kink-aware. They don't have to be willing to be on the list. Word-of-mouth at munches and play parties would get the job done. We don't need to be passive and wait for the world to come to us, we can go out there, and advocate for our rights. Talking to your family doctor is a great act of empowerment towards a better kink-friendly life.
