ORIGINAL: MercTech It kind of reminded me of "Supernatural Ammunition". An enterprising fellow makes bullets of mahogany with a silver core and a steel jacket. Effective against fairies, vampires, werewolves, and zombies. I'm trying to figure out your composition. Vampires and werewolves, as I understand it, are hyper-allergic to silver. So the silver would somehow have to rupture from the steel jacket. I'm guessing it would be better, more reliable, if the bullet base wasn't steel jacketed so that, if nothing else, the mahogany and the silver were both exposed there. Even a through and through without significant deformation of the steel jacket would have exposed material to the species. I'm thinking something like a nosler partition. It has a lead spire point and the back end of the bullet isn't jacketed. All though, a couple of companies, Oregon Trail for one, already cast silver into lead for hardness. Not a lot, but certainly enough for a werewolf or vampire. I'm not sure the steel is really needed. I'm assuming you're seeing that for zombies. But I'm wondering if we can't emulsify the mahogany and use it as a coating, something like they did with molybdenum bullets for a while. Or...wow, wait, the mahogany could be added to the tip like plastic is now for ballistic tip bullets. I think that would pretty much eliminate the need for steel. So a partition type bullet with silver added to the lead and a mohagany tip. What do you think? The steel is to take out the faerie. They are allergic to iron, ya know. No, I must have who's allergic to what all fouled up. I'll get back to this after research.
