Could be right who knows. Hence the wording in my post. If the Administration isn't involved in corercing the insurance companies as a cost savings all well and good. If the Administration should have caught this before, not so good. If the insurance coluded to keep insurance claims down, not good. If they hid that information from the Administration in some manner not good. Lots of different options. Not sure yet which one fits. If, as I suspect, Congress gets into the act, they will look toward the Administration for the answers - hence probable scandal - because they will yell coverup.

Insurance companies have been fucking people out of money forever. You seriously think that this administration (inside, outside, above, below, to the side) TOLD them to do that?

Its....probable.
apparently.

With funding running out, I do believe it is possible that someone came along and said something to the affect that we should try to hold claims down and it was taken to far by an underling. I have seen it happen before in government.

That could be correct, and might even be probable, if, and only if, government gave a rat's ass about how much was being spent. It's $23B in the hole. What's another couple billion? Chump change for the Federal Government. That's only, what, 0.6% of the budget? That's like one hammer and one toilet seat. A mere pittance.

Yup Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of NY is the one who wants the investigation in the Administration failure to act it appears.

I support this investigation. Hope it is fruitful.

Actions by FEMA, aren't necessarily tied to the Administration in DC, though. That's the tough thing. Also, there is little to no incentive for the Administration to not send as much aid as humanly possible to those people.

The insurance companies are alleged to have doctored engineering reports (from the articles presented, it sure looks like they're guilty of that). FEMA, for whatever reason, didn't investigate, as it should have. Why? Was Obama behind it? Again, what motive would there have been?

It always appears that Obama's hands are clean. As to motive I have no clue. From what it appears to me is that the Administration is out of control, at least somewhat. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many scandals, lies, and misrepresentations. My opinion.
