I do consider age and I will tell you why: Ones closer to my age have a generation in common with me. The young guys that find this early on.. are more into it for the ultimate orgasm type of thrill. Lotus, you are correct. When I was in my 30's it was all about getting laid and screw the woman's pleasure. Now, I always put the pleasure of my sub before mine. Actually, it gives (me) great pleasure to see her enjoying my ministrations so much! And for a punishment some times I'll see just how many times I can make her cum while she's bound and gagged before I look to my own pleasure.

Not all subs seek older Doms. My most amazing experiences have been with Doms 10-15 years YOUNGER than me, each and every time. The only problems that can arise from such an age difference are the standard ones of any type of relationships, finding compatible intellect, goals, interests, maturity levels and commitment. But that can be found in vanilla as well.

And then these days there's the issue of housing. (Assets) A lot of younger people don't have adequate housing because of high prices. It must be hard to do a scene in the parents basement apartment! ( "Hurry up and cum before my parents get home!")

Why do you assume that an OLDER dom is an EXPERIENCED dom? In my EXPERIENCE, that's not the case. I'd like to see a thread about YOUNGER EXPERIENCED doms. You know--like me.

A dom with a lot of experience and an experienced dom are not the same thing maybe? I look at the experience someone has in many aspects of life, not just how long they have used a flogger. There are many ways to be experienced aren't there?

Having been with those older, but mostly with those younger, i look for intellectual compatibility, emotional/intellectual/physical chemistry, rather than numbers of years a person may have, either in the Lifestyle or on this earth. Creativity, compassion, intuition, even sensitivity, are not guaranteed aspects of aging. one can certainly point to many who have had their greatest achievements while still in their youth, and just as many who have amounted to less than nothing and been abusers well into seniority. star

I've always been attracted to older men, so yes I would look for an older Dom, just as it was older men I was involved with vanilla. It's a preference of mine.

personally i rather look for someone with common interests and compatible personalities rather than the experience.. i guess someone around my age because i can relate to them in a lot of different topics a lot easier than with somone older. Experience isn't too important because 1. W/we can learn together ( i have very little experience) 2. i believe it makes the relationship a lot healthier and closer 3. in my mind.. it's simpler to mold the relationship into what W/we both desire. but that's just me :) [:D]

This is something I've discussed with My girl. For some reason she seems to think I am a wonderful Master and has said she doesn't do too well with Masters around her own age (She is 16 years My junior). I point out that I am not much diffrent now than I was at her age in regards to how I treat a girl in my collar. A little more refinement over the years, but mostly the same attitude, approach and mind-set. Back then I had aproaching 10 years experience, now I've 25, big deal. The learning curve, whilst it never stops, does tend to level out quite a bit.

IMHO .. I've considered this question before, and came up with this. the Subs with which I'm involved, invariably have some motive, and that, always involved an older man. On the rare occasion that I've had women reply 'too old', it IS generally because they have some notion that I 'cannot relate' in terms of music or fashion... That isn't always true, although I do have problems relating to people who are superficial at any age. Possibly, attraction to older Doms comes down to 'percieved power' on the part of the (younger) sub. Without 'between the sheets' experience, the only thing some women have by which to guage a Man's 'Power' ARE the obvious things, Wealth, position, prestige, and until a woman matures past this, men her own age may never be percieved as 'powerful' enough to compete with her fantasies. As for a young man's 'ability' to be a Dominant, I think it IS rare, since so many young men see Dominance as an extension of 'control' issues. As Anyone with any experience will tell you, it is often the Mental aspect of dominance, in which many fail. Failure to acknowledge the submissive as an integral part of the D/s relationship is a recipe for failure (this, I learned in my young years.) For me, now, MY Pleasure is in seeing My sub powerless to resist my ability to incite HER desire, whether that's bound and immobile, or seated across a table at a restaurant. I enjoy my sub knowing that when it comes down to the nuts and bolts of it, I Do, and will pleasure her well 'above and beyond' the (vanilla) 'call of duty'.. What woman, of Any age, wouldn't enjoy knowing that the man she's involved with has such power over her? I have yet to meet one, of any age.

Experience IS good though. Younger guys do have a problem "lasting". I know I did in my teens, twenties, and thirties a bit too. I really started to hit my stride in my fourties and fifties though. Much more "control" for some reason.! In my twenties I could never last for an hour! Now it's no big deal.

I have not had many D/s experiences in my life, but my first major experience was an 8 month affair with a man that was 32 years older than me. I had just discovered D/s on line a few months before and was chatting with a lot of different people on line and on the phone. He just happened to be the one that got my attention. I am eternally grateful that my introduction to one of the most personal and meaningful things I have ever experienced was under his guidance. He did have a lot of experience, both D/s and life experience and he just seemed to intuitive know what approach to take with me. He did have assets, but we did almost everything Dutch treat (my insistence). He had stamina like I had never seen, and have never seen since. (well, I haven't seen much of ANYTHING since). I am not talking about intercourse....I am talking about his imagination, his creativity, his spell binding attention that he paid to this newbie. I sometimes think his age may have played a part in my seemingly natural ability to be respectful, obedient, submissive with him. I didn't intentionally seek out an older man, but I have to tell ya, for any older man out there that is concerned about diminishing appeal ......it doesn't have to be.....it doesn't have to be.
