This 'issue' seems to me to be like that of the perennial 'They're going to ban Christmas so as not to offend Muslims!' Muslims generally don't care. In fact, they like giving and getting presents and having a beano and Christmas is as good an excuse for that as anything else. Neither can anyone find an actual, living lefty and "politically correct" person who will actually go in front of a camera to say that he/she gives a toss, either.

I say 'issue' because it's clearly been cooked up by Fux News and nobody else gives a flying rat's arse about it. That is what news agencies do, on account of it's how they earn their money. If there aren't any real issues around to get indignant about, they have to make one up.

Overall, and to all I'd say: It's pointless, irrelevant drivel. Move on.

I've never heard that one before. Is it a big deal in your country?

Oh god yes. For the last few years I've had an email from my goose-stepping dad just before the dread event showing a picture of a Christmas Tree, with the caption 'I call this a Christmas Tree' (with the inference of 'to the blazes with anyone who doesn't like it!').

For this kind of lunacy, just look at the Daily Mail website. The extreme righties may be more lunatic in your country overall, TH, but ours have their very own brand of nuttiness that is unrivaled across the globe.

Actually the thread was about fox freaking out (not that they were but it sounded good till you watched the clip) not smokers but since the fox thing was a lie maybe you can show me where smokers are freaking out over it. Everyone I have discussed it with could care less.
