I was scanning a couple further stories today, and there seem to be some people out in the world of the media who are simply shocked and appalled that Kalashnikov never apologized for his invention, or took personal responsibility for all the deaths he caused.

Why should he? He didn't make anybody use them, he merely created the weapon for his homeland, nothing less. Kalashnikov loved his nation, warts and all, and wanted to do what he could for it. For good or bad, he did just that. I hope he finds his peace and rest after a long and interesting life.

He was serving his country, he has nothing to apologize for.

Interestingly, he died pretty much in poverty. Didn't get too much material wealth from his design.

You're kidding right???
