Sweet toothpastes contain SUGAR, or SACCARIDE, or other sweeteners (they used to list them on the labels). Stick with the NON-sweet ones. White paste tends to have better whitening properties, especially if it has baking soda and peroxide. Most gels contain blue or green DYE which in My experience can actually STAIN your teeth. I agree with others here, Colgate (total whitening) is one of the best (though nasty tasting). In a pinch you can actually make your own with a palmful of baking soda, a splash of peroxide, and stir it with your brush. Always brush for at least 2 minutes, get all angles, and DON'T FORGET YOUR TONGUE...especially if one of your chores is polishing Mistress' black patent boots! All of My boys are expected to maintain good brushing habits. Yucky teeth and tongues gross Me out!
