Best to head this one off at the pass before conservatives conveniently forget reality when bashing the President today....

I'm talking about a Risk Assessment regarding the roll out of the heathcare.gov site. Every company and government agency usually puts together as good of an idea of what sort of problems or 'show stoppers' that could take place. This is usually before or shortly after the project has started. The purpose of this exercise is to point out possible problems before they erupt and have one or more contingency plans in place to handle it. Depending on the protect, sometimes a contingency can not be fully planned out as there are to many unknown variables. In any case, the material is presented and usually noted.

As I said, any project with a serious investment usually will have one or more of these plans created and examined. It is done each time the US NAVY builds a ship, the states build bridges, and when something brand new and untested is put before the public. I seem to recall former President G. W. Bush (for example) created a group of people to handle the question 'what to do with Iraq AFTER its in USA control'. That plan had a risk assessment tied to it. And what happen in reality and the plan are two very different things. Makes you wonder why REPUBLICANS were not mad at the REPUBLICAN President and his White House when the plan got FUBAR'd and the risk plan was put into action (clumsily at that). But boy oh boy are they going to be 'mad' at the DEMOCRAT President over this issue. Yes sirry....their next 'Benghazi' issue with which to waste even MORE taxpayer money in committees and congressional hearings. All the Rand Pauls and Paul Ryans bitching about this plan like its the first time they've EVER heard of such a concept being put into action anywhere on the globe and within past history. And the only people that will believe the theater is the ones most likely to re-elect Republicans in the next election:

The ultra low information voter.

Who said republicans aren't mad at bush?

I consider the job done by the provisional council was: incompetent. ridiculous. It lost us anything that the fight might have gained.

I despised him for the medicare expansion, just as I despised his father for the "no new taxes".

Unfortunately, Obama care is an even bigger disaster almost any way you care to look at it.

The worst, most incompetent. out of touch president in the history of the United States of America and like moths to a kleig light the Obama ball lickers rally 'round him.
Andrew Johnson was an intellectual giant in comparison.

Geez louise, how can anyone defend the obamcare debacle, this thing is not only going to destroy our health care system, which WAS the best in the world bar none, but it will finish bankrupting our country. What a lot of silly twatwaffles.

Yeah-and that team followed up a terrific attack plan with something like an 11 page memo for how to handle Iraq post war.Mostly it came down to The Free Iraqi's will rise, rejoice, and overnight become a Democratic nation. (In contrast, the Allies had something like a 50 volume infrastructure ready to put in place Post WW 2 that, coupled with the Marshall Plan, rebuilt Europe far more rapidly than would be expected). Some of this was due to an post Vietnam aversion to nation building (and the Army sure didn't want to police a foreign civilian population), but more was based around the Wilsonian Ideal of allowing freedom loving people to seek freedom.Plus, they had a whole slew of sleazy rich Expats who had fled Iraq years before that they thought could act in a governing fashion.Instead, to their horror, the Iraqi's rejected the exiles completely, preferring people who had stuck around under the regime.
The tragedy of it is that there was a window there where, if a real occupation plan had been in place, one that got the water running, the power on, put some order in the streets, the Middle East would be a radically different place than the smoking war zone it currently is.
There was a tremendous once in a generation chance to really make things different and the Bush team blew it almost 100%.
Such a shame. It's like the Top Chef critique-great concept, terrible execution.
Sigh

lol, our health care systems was the best in the world bar none?

Perhaps some credible citations could be offered as proof of that silly douchegeysering, because there is ample credible citeable proof  against that.  As a for instance, name me the countries and the statistics of the number of bankruptcies per hundred thou brought on by medical expense.

Best health care in the world? Clearly you've never been poor or without insurance my friend. We are one of the worst nations for healthcare. I'm currently working in Canada, don't buy the hype, the people here are happy and healthy. I just went to a walk-in clinic for an upper respiratory infection. Waited two hours (not too bad compared to the average emergency room visit), paid 75 to see the doc (much better then the 200-300 in the states), and paid 18 and change for the medicine (same medicine cost 115 in the states).

So, the wait was comparable, the care was identical, and the uninsured cost was significantly lower. Please explain how we get better health care in the states? We are the ONLY industrialized nation in the world that doesn't have universal healthcare for its citizens, yet we do NOT have the best healthcare or economy. Your assertion comes from a priviledged viewpoint, or is in fact, an outright dishonesty.

And this boys and girls is an example of 'out of touch with reality'. The healthcare system BEFORE was doing a very unhealthy number on the country. We as a nation paid twice what other nations paid and only got half the benefits. We rate at the bottom of industrialized nations right now for number of doctors and nurses per 1000 population. Bankruptcy due to medical bills is the highest in the country followed by student loans (cus it REALLY costs a lot to study Medicine). Most citizens did not have access to health coverage, including those whom the bill was created for: the employees of small businesses. Small businesses hold a share of nearly 80% of the US Workforce.

Either all of this is completely B.S., or your out of touch with reality. Need I bring up the failed conditions in the VA Hospitals around then ation? Where do you get your information from? The Drudge Report? :P

If you are trying to sell people on the idea of a single payer system run by the government you may want to stay away from the problems of the VA.

No, I'm pointing out that among the healthcare system before the ACA, the Veterans Administration hospitals were just as poorly run if not worst. The ACA is a way to start rebuilding the whole structure from the ground up before the whole thing crushes ordinary Americans under a mountain of debt, destruction, and suffering. An that a re-tooling of the VA Hospitals should really commence as well.

I'm not saying anything about nor pushing for a 'single payer system'. The term is meaningless without actual definition of what and what it isn't. Its like when we hear conservatives bitch about smaller government. Yet when you actually question their reasoning and ask logical questions, they end up wanting big government after all. The Republican definition of 'single payer' just does not work. Like their 'trickle down theory' or 'supply size economics' (which means the same thing by the way). What does the term's definition mean is often MORE important than the title of the term.
