They usually come out of the wood work during any real conversation that requires thinking, an education and a healthy dose of wisdom. Whether its on firearms, healthcare, science, government, or some event effecting spaceship Earth. I'm sure we can name names if allowed by the moderator as to who among this board is within the 'ultra low information voters' group without to much disagreement. Half the time we spend having to dumb down the English from 'very complex' and 'complicated' material to that of 'three rocks in a box' for these individuals. Heck, a simple Google search and five to fifteen minutes of research is often enough to destroy any and all their arguments.

Geez louise, how can anyone defend the obamcare debacle, this thing is not only going to destroy our health care system, which WAS the best in the world bar none, but it will finish bankrupting our country. What a lot of silly twatwaffles.

Our healthcare system is, factually, the worst in the developed world, not the best. We spend twice as much per capita as pretty much any other developed country, and yet have the most uninsured people, the lowest life expectancy, the highest rate of unwanted pregnancy and the highest infant mortality. And Americans are the most likely to be bankrupted by medical costs.

In Japan, you can see any doctor in the country, IIRC with no copay, usually on the same day you want to see them. People, IIRC, go to the doctor on average once a month. And yet they spend half as much on health care as we do. France also spends half as much, and IIRC the doctor will come to your house for free and insurance will pay for you to go recuperate at a resort.

We have the most lucrative health care system in the world in the U.S.
I still can't wrap my mind around the concept that mandating, by law, that you have to pay insurance companies has anything to do with health care for the people. How about some regulation on billing practices and costs. How about having the right to know the cost of a treatment before you consent to it? You can't even get a straight answer as to what an office visit will cost or what is the cost of a diagnostic test. Don't even get me started on third party billing. (Your doc says he thinks you have a sprained ankle but wants an x-ray to confirm. Six weeks later you get a bill for several hundred dollars from a radiologist confirming your doctor's evaluation of the x-ray. Should you be liable for charges from someone you never met, never talked to, and never heard from until he sent you a bill?

Actually, it's ranked about #20

It IS the most expensive, however.

Unfortunately, we don't get what we pay for.

First, why don't you go read The Affordable Care Act. Its only been the law of the land for three and a half years now....

Nothing in the law states you are forced to by a healthcare plan. That's the right wing misinformation machine your listening to. However, like all other laws, there is consequence to not following the law. This is known as the penalty. The document calls it a fine, the US Supreme Court defined it as a tax by legal lingo standards. So if you do not have a healthcare plan, than you will be charged for it on the next income statement due April 15, 2014. Since the due date to not incur the fine/tax is Jan 1, 2014, I would look into the plans seriously as soon as you can. The website is still undergoing fixing and is expected to be online for Nov 30, 2013. My view is the President will push back this 'Jan. 1st 2014' date by a month or two.

While I agree that we are far from the best system out there I have to wonder where you get the rest from. We do not have the lowest life expectancy according to this http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/11/21/the-u-s-ranks-26th-for-life-expectancy-right-behind-slovenia/ although we are lower than I would have guessed. We also don't have the highest infant mortality rate according to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_infant_mortality_rate in fact we are even close on that one. I couldn't find link for uninsured so maybe you can help me out with that one along with unwanted pregnancy.

Who said republicans aren't mad at bush?

Most of the Republicans (and "independents") in here, for a start.

I've seen all kinds of Pubs and Independents complain about Bush around here.

And he's gone so now we're complaining about President Snow.
