FatDomDaddy -> President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/12/2013 8:15:41 PM)

“If you like what you’ve got, you can keep it.” This is a promise young people heard clearly, and it’s one President Obama needs to keep — even if it requires a change in the law.

I wonder if President Clinton got the messages that allowing individual private insurance plans catered to the specific needs of the buyers is exactly the opposite of what the Obama Admiration was going for?

Assessing the Healthcare Rollout

TheHeretic -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/12/2013 8:23:19 PM)

The Clintons are certainly sharp enough to see what is coming for the Democrat brand out of this Obamacare disaster. What do you bet she's going to have run (and probably lose anyway) on fixing it?

FatDomDaddy -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/12/2013 8:42:28 PM)

Run??? You mean she's not going to be anointed?

LOL.. funny how many things didn't make the list....

Here's one that I would put on the list

#I tried to do healthcare, and failed miserably, so much so my party was crushed in midterms. Yet, when it came up again - there I was in the trenches, pushing yet another failed plan.

fool me once - poo on you. Fool me twice, poo on me.

I find it amusing that you need to push this as a disaster. Or any other 'monstrously' evil word in its place to slam the administration. No one could predict what exactly was going to happen with numerous insurance companies three years prior to events. Can you predicted a complicated set of events taking place exactly three years in advance with perfect accuracy?

So Democrats will have to make some changes for the better......

....And Republican/Tea Party along with their minions will do anything and everything to stop, smear, attack, filibuster, withhold, sabotage, and destroy anything that might actually help the American people in both the short and long term. Not once realizing they are just making it easier on Democrats to win more seats in Congress in 2014 and 2016. 'Wisdom' is just not a trait tied to conservatives.

What you do not realize is that Democrats have time on their hands. I could explain it, but shit, where is the fun in that? Better to sit back, let you babble out more stupid, ignorant and foolish crap for another two months. An why two months? Well....

...You'll have to find out the hard way.

bossman777 -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/13/2013 4:12:40 AM)

Imagine you were Hillary, you want to be president, so how best to acheive that? Answer: you re-start the 'contest' that you had with Ovomit the first time he ran... You pitch it like you're the answer to the problem he created; you can do what he cannot; you were the right choice all along... Don't you see how this is all political theater for the gullible masses? It's simple game psychology. It's an appeal to her faction of the Democratic party to give her the nomination. It's smart politics, as it re-ignites the old flames from that bitter fight she had with Ovomit the first time around. Of course, I'd expect nothing less than smart political ploys from a Clinton. They probably have Ovomit working with them on this. It is in his interest that the next administration be run by Democrats too.

Joether, talk about 'minions', you must be one of those government paid social website propogandists I read about. It's the new way to shape public opinion: Troll the boards pushing the pro-government line at taxpayer expense... it's disgusting.

TheHeretic -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/13/2013 6:39:57 AM)

Joether, this is no more complicated than seeing that a guy who jaywalks without looking is going to get hit by a bus.

mnottertail -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/13/2013 6:42:37 AM)

At least nobody is so gullible to speak of some murky giant coming from the GOP who will slaughter all the dogs.  Cuz they ain't there.

Maybe run Mitt again.

I agree with everything in that article and more. Hillary is the ultimate game of thrones player... even worse than Obama in that sense. I don't think she has any vision whatsoever beyond "get power". That makes her the ultimate corporatist also... the WORST thing our country could ever hope for at this juncture.

Sadly, I suspect with the Republicans continuing with their wildly unpopular stances it's going to pretty much be "Hillary is anointed". As we've all discussed, the demographics are just plain working against the Republican party on way too many social issues. And on the corporatism front, it's highly unlikely they will put a challenger to Hillary anyway.

So if you want my tea leaves read, it's Hillary as president -- as disastrous as that is.

Your assuming things based on what real evidence? What other people so who also have no real evidence to speak on? The lady has not announced she is running for the job. Until that moment arrives, anything from anybody is pure speculation. If God were to run for President, do you honestly think Hillary would have a prayer of a chance, much less her Republican/Tea Party opponent? But God has not announced his run in the race. Nor has Thor, Ra, Zombie-Animinated-George Washinton, or Sarah Palin. Speculate all you want, but do not take assumptions that are not based on anything solid for being fact.

Most of the policies canceled by the insurance industry............ can be/were replaced with better, cheaper ones.

Which means cons are hoping Americans pay more for less received.

Millions cancelled, not even 100K signed up. Can be is crap in one hand, wish in the other. Your math-fu is faulty, or weak at best.

Owner59 -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/13/2013 4:21:23 PM)

Millions....that means millions will get better ,cheaper coverage.....

Thanks much for the leg-up...

Folks are still covered and will be...who had a policy....no one will go without care.... And now millions more Americans will be able to get covered....

I`m not sure if the lunatic fringe realizes it but the "Obamacare is a disaster" alternate reality narrative is just their`s....

This is not an even stakes, political poker game.

The stakes are 30 million folks who`ll now be able to get insurance, millions more who'll get better care for less money on one side with the President on one side......

And republicans trying to deny 30 million Americans from getting coverage and wanting millions and millions of Americans to pay more, for less.....and scare them into submission to achieve that goal while their at it.....on the other.

When folks looks at the players and stakes.....they know who the good faith player is and who the ass-holes are....

cloudboy -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/13/2013 4:43:48 PM)

He is a nihilist when it comes to politics. He believes little and is hyper-cynical. Big money and machine politics control everything -- public interest legislation is a sham, judicial appointments mean little, and there's no meaningful difference between the US political parties.

----------

With conservatives, everything is going to HELL if there is a Democratic president. The fact that we have not been attacked again, wound down two clusterfuck wars, have a decent housing recovery underway, and a huge stock market rebound means nothing to conservative jesters.

I was somewhat amused to read how whacked out Catholic conservatives are over the new Pope, a borderline heretic in their minds, and how whacked out European conservatives are about the European Union and immigration. Conservatives in IRAN are irate that its President is seeking normalized relations with the US. Conservatives in Russia are beating up on minority ethnic groups.

So much anger and animosity in the face of change...... and anything that's not familiar and reassuring.

Pick something to hate and then build everything around that.....

Any proof that they can/were replaced with better, cheaper plans?

slvemike4u -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/13/2013 7:20:22 PM)

The folks receiving these cancellation's were in possession of substandard policies,we set standards for car insurance why should health insurance be any different?
The President chose his words poorly during the run up to this(why someone didn't point this out to him I have no idea)but allowing folks to keep these lousy policy's is not the answer
Bill is wrong here and really should rethink his comments,he probably thinks he's helping Hillary but this isn't helpful, better to tell folks that a mistake was made and move on.
Additional government subsidies will not fly and should not be implemented ,they will only undermine the law

p.s Any idiot could have foresaw that this was going to happen....a floor was going to have to be set on these policies and given what some of these companies were selling it was obvious that the President was misspeaking

servantforuse -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/13/2013 7:26:30 PM)

He didn't choose his words poorly. He lied over and over again.

slvemike4u -> RE: President Clinton to President Obama...Honor your promise! (11/13/2013 7:31:20 PM)

I prefer to think he misspoke over and over again :-)
I prefer to think that he gave Americans enough credit to realize that minimums would have to be set...i"m assuming you were smart enough to understand that, right servant?
Surely you weren't stupid enough to believe that there would be a MANDATE and yet policies not worth the paper they were printed on could be kept....please tell me you aren't that dense ?
