For the record - it doesn't go far enough, but its a good step. Now strip away patenting seeds entirely. And the ability to insert the roundup gene is a potential environmental disaster for the plants that already have that ability.
Ban it.

Do you know if there has been any links to genetically modified seeds, and colony collapse disorder? Any proof that plants from GM seeds have no causal link to CCD?

Thats a real tough one, Desi. There was a fellow that had more than 10 years of research on that very question. However, shortly before he was going to publish his results, his computers, books, notes and all his research were confiscated.

Monsanto has been *very* effective in coopting people in this line of research. The person that is the head of the FDA (as I recall) is an ex monsanto person, as are several high placed staffers in Dept Agriculture. Since the FDA ruled that GMO's are 'the same' as regular crops no testing is needed....

So evidence - no I can't prove it.
But you want my gut feel - yes. Something like 80% of certain crops are not GMO'd. There was a fascinating article that said that even if if the roundup gene wasn't killing bees directly, that the internal flora of the bumblees had adapted - and were now killing bees.

In my opinion it is a perfect storm of at least three factors.

Pretty difficult to prove a negative. I had not heard that ccd had been linked to gm seeds or monsanto.

I have the hypothesis (based on nothing but anecdotal and unscientific "data collection"; ie. reading about CCD and also noting the increasing use of GM seeds) that they do. I don't have the resources to study it, though.

I am concerned that continued reduction in bee colonies might have huge implications for future food production.

Please not that I have not claimed that GM seeds cause CCD, nor have I claimed they don't.

A lot more research into CCD needs to be done, then. I had hoped we were closer to finding the answers and developing strategies to correct the issues.
