The footage of the killer, standing there bloody knife in hand, trying to explain and justify his actions while the poor corpse lay on the street in the background would be irresistible to any TV news editor anywhere. Add to that the jihadi angle, the subsequent shooting of the two killers by the police and you have a TV news sensation.

It's ironic that it seems the footage was taken by someone who just happened to be passing by, and a resident of nearby flats. These two thugs couldn't have organised more worldwide publicity if they tried. Possibly the most depressing aspect of this sad incident is that we can expect copycats, no doubt hoping to replicate the sheer volume of publicity these two thugs have generated.

your thoughts on this terrible event

Introduce a bill immediately! We must ban knives and other sharp instruments because they can be used to kill people.

This is as laughable as it is obnoxious.

Ain't it treason to murder a soldier of one's own country?

No, its just murder and has been since the law changed in 1828.

High treason was treason against the sovereign. Petty treason was treason against a subject.

I know you werent asking but others may wish to know the distinction.

Are you sure? The bizarre incoherent drivel the fuckwit was spouting sounded more like he's trying to get sectioned under the mental health act instead of facing trial than an ideological statement.

First, this is absolutely horrific. My heart goes out the the family of that man.

Second:

If someone commits a horrible act, you don't justify it, and on top of that, what they are saying is just as stupid as the people who committed this.

THANK YOU! This statement ought to be pasted on a couple of other threads.....
