Owner59 -> So where do criminals and terrorists get their guns? (4/25/2013 8:08:56 AM)

We often hear the comment(from gun-nutters) that we shouldn`t pass any laws restricting guns because "the criminals" don`t obey the law yada yada....(probably the most horrible logic ever but this comes from them).

most guns used in crimes are stolen

since when does a private party have an obligation to the government to do a background check on any other private party.

I enjoy the logic, however the portion of those guns used in crime are low. And personally dont own or shoot, yet enjoy enthusiasts. As such, there are MANY methods criminals use, and the worst part is, sellers buyers and thieves are all at fault, gun control laws do need to be tweaked, not reinforced, such as existing policies should be inspected and used much more thoroughly as they were not here in most cases. Forms are simple yes, and should be used much more thoroughly. however banns on rounds and types of guns, that is where it crosses the line. Amp up certain measure in place, removes the criminal aspect. Maybe even just taking serial numbers down and license numbers as is easier to trace with. Much easier than reformating a whole system.
Do like the video, and I think this does actually advertise if seen on the news for criminals to do the same. So media should be more careful what they ask for. Awareness yes, but who else wants to be aware how to easily get a gun?

There it is from the ATF, they sort of watch these things, a little.

I daresay that has never been said.
Nice strawboogeyman.

The equivalent would be someone on the right claiming that.

"We often hear the comment (from Communist/Leftists) that everyone should be totally disarmed even to the point of not allowing steak knives (or steak because we all know that meat is murder) and that would eliminate crime"

That isn't true either is it?

Real0ne -> RE: So where do criminals and terrorists get their guns? (4/25/2013 8:49:34 AM)

owner wants a right to become equivalent to a control substance.
hence abolish the right
how about unlawful search without probable cause.

well if you run with owners logic it would not stop there, everyone would be required to have their arms and legs amputated to insure they do not hurt anyone, or at a minimum a license to keep them.

Some people think one can put the Genie back in the bottle, kinda like un-ringing a bell. Highly illogical and most assuredly the product of some psychosis. Delusional at best, deadly at worst.

ThatShiGuy -> RE: So where do criminals and terrorists get their guns? (4/25/2013 9:04:43 AM)

We also know how well south korea and japan fairs with no guns.... police and military only, south korea has some of the largest crime issues int he world and gangs. Go figure, take away a gun, they use a lead pipe. Good luck.I would rather have a fighting chance without carrying a lead pipe in my pants for protection, or the whole my right to be able to defend myself if need be. As we all know , crime will happen , gun or not. Plus, how many would rather be bashed with a bat than shot? Honestly, if im going to die by a weapon, please make it a gun, save me the agony of stabbed and beaten to death.... rather a bit drawn out if you ask me. That is just basic logic to me.

Noone in that thread said there should be no gun laws.

So unh, "often" escalates to "constantly," in proof thereof we have ONE.

If you find another, you'll have TWO. [:)]

There's that word again REGULATED. Anyone with a vocabulary past third grade would know that "Regulated" means "there are laws that limit"[8|]

You`re making the mistake that I`m talking about board members.

I rarely if ever refer to CM members in my arguments. If I do,I specifically name them.

99% of the time, when I refer to the gun nuts,it`s the extreme parts of the gop and the NRA I`m speaking of.

Of course there are a few of the gunutters here [:D] but it`d be against TOS to point them out.[:D]

No need to anyway cuz the guneria usually step up and take ownership of the terms(s) themselves.

For example......if one thinks that the sales that went down in the vid are ok,then they might be a gun nut.

I`ll be interested to know where the Boston murderers got there weapons. They or anyone who wants to buy weapons for the purpose of committing crimes would have no problem getting guns at these shows.

They didn`t even know one another`s names, let alone whether they were criminals/terrorists or not.

If one thinks that`s NOT an issue...they just might be......a gun nut.

I support reasonable gun rules, like back ground checks.Like we have here in NJ.

In fact, our loser governor is pushing for more gun laws here in Jersey which I don`t support. He`ll probably lose on that legislation.

Anyone with an actual reading ability would also see "infringed" and there is no way to reconcile the two. He specifically says regulate is ok but infringing is not. look up the definitions of the words and tell me how that doesn't mean no laws controling gun possesion.

You're arguing a false dichotomy, apparently in the belief that the Framers lacked any "actual reading ability." In the context of the Constitution, a "well-regulated" militia means one that is in good order, i.e., equipped with serviceable arms and knowledgeable in their use. The meaning of "infringe" isn't even remotely close.
