Laughable that most of those on the right didnt speak up when Bush was doing the same in Iraq. Now Obama is doing it its piss and moan time.

Bush got Congressional authorization. That makes a difference in our system of governance. Sorry if yours felt the need to tongue his balls, without you guys getting a say.

You need to read about our Parliament and how it works Rich, instead of spouting off. MP`s got a vote after being given the oh so shaky WMD`s bullshit. No wonder they voted yes, even though the public thought it was crap intel.

They cheerleaded when it was our troops getting killed for a lie. Now Obama has toppled one dictator with a proven record of attacking the US and our allies and is working on another without losing a single US soldiers life and the right wingers are apoplectic.

What sort of validation do you have that the above is true?

What sort of evidence do you have that Iraq wasn't invaded over magic disappearing WMDs, rather than the "moral" excuses about Hussein being a nasty man and a bad leader that were reverted to later when that story was demolished as a complete fabrication?

Iraq was going to get invaded under some pretext by the Anglo-Americans, be it WMD, yellowcake or what ever other "evidence" needed to be manufactured. The English Labourites had tendered a blanket war powers act in 1999 which caused a constitutional crisis in the UK, and the United States neo-conservatives had already promulgated the doctrine for the invasion prior to the Bush election.

The embargo on Iraq had been deliberately sabotaged by various European nations as well as by certain United States corporations, with the intent of "proving" such an embargo was useless.

The intent was to remove one of the Pan-Arab secular states for the favor of the House of Saud and the other Gulf oil puppets, while providing the Anglo-Americans with a platform for further military adventurism in the region, or so the neo-conservatives planned, according to their printed documents and open public statements..

That this whole series of events was known to be orchestrated is demonstrated by such things as the Downing Street Memo.

As for the jihadists you must separate them into their various home authorities, the Salafi and Wahhabi terrorists as quasi-Sunni and nominally under the House of Saud, who sponsor their cult. The Pakistani ones have somewhat differing goals and attack the English and Commonwealth interests more often, the Somalian and East African ones are more anti-colonial, the East Asian ones attack China and other East Asian nations, while the ones based in the Palestinian/Jordanian/Syrian axis are Iran supported and usually direct their energy at the Israelis. There are also groups directing their attentions at the Russians, and the North and West African ones directed at their regions.

Though they often interact and share ideologies, they appear to have specific individual goals. And you will not see the Salafi jihadists acting conray to the Gulf Protectorate's interests, the Shia jihadi attacking Iran, etc.
