You need to scroll down the page, for the personalized result, Butch. You are the red dot.

I wound up where I always do on these sorts of things.
Economic Left/Right: -8.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.03

which is the bottom left corner of the graph.

I always pegged you as an extremist. [:)]

Mitt is more authoritarian than Obama? Really? Obama is that far to the right?!?

We non-Americans have been saying it for years here, DS. US politics is far more right wing than the politics of most western liberal-democracies. Your lefties frequently do look like righties to us and we in the UK, for instance, have no major political presence that compares with your right-wing Republicans. In all I'd say, yep, Cameron and Obama are placed as I'd expect on that chart - ideological next-door neighbours.

I wonder whether Netanyahoo will be charmed to find himself in such close proximity to Bashar Al-Assad? Or vice versa?

You think thats bad, I am practically Kirata (No offense) [;)]

Slightly left of where I thought I would be, but miles away from Cameron, which I knew.

Lucylastic -> RE: Find your political self on the 'Political Compass' (4/3/2013 5:05:47 AM)

Actually Kiratas score didnt surprise me in the least.....that is a good thing by the way imnsho.

PeonForHer -> RE: Find your political self on the 'Political Compass' (4/3/2013 5:15:34 AM)

You, me and Gandhi are all close neighbours, Lucy. It's like the three of us live in thatched cottages in a little hamlet in the Cotswolds, with Kirata, PoliteSub and thishereboi in the next village along. Isn't that cosy? [:)]

Lucylastic -> RE: Find your political self on the 'Political Compass' (4/3/2013 5:18:07 AM)

I say we put in a fun dungeon, seeing as Gandhi is only with us in spirit.....

Seeing as it's the Cotswolds, most of those villages probably already have dungeons, albeit *very* discreet ones.

Wasn't he that bloke in Hell Drivers as well?

I am like a -7, -5.

PeonForHer -> RE: Find your political self on the 'Political Compass' (4/3/2013 3:39:32 PM)

I think that was Yul Brynner, though an easy mistake - he and Mohandas K. could have been twins. It was actually Gandhi, you know, in West World - not Yul. Lots of people get that wrong.

JeffBC -> RE: Find your political self on the 'Political Compass' (4/3/2013 4:07:33 PM)

I was over there near Ghandi too.

Economic Left/Right: -4.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.97

Conveniently for me, I voted for Jill Stein who actually does represent my views. Interestingly, Romney, Obama (and Hitler) all occupy a WAY distant part of the chart. What's even more interesting to me is whether any significant number of Americans at all are actually somewhere in alignment with either Obama or Romney. That'd certainly explain the whole "lesser of two evils" and "voter apathy" thing.

Just in a different sense. Mitt would be more socially limiting and Obama more economically limiting.

He is not a true capitalist, he is a corporatist. Still wealth distribution, just in the wrong direction.

First line depends on in whose interest you are talking about.

Second line is incorrect as Mitt was an exemplary capitalist, they and the corporatist being financial soul mates and a marriage made in heaven of profits.

FunCouple5280 -> RE: Find your political self on the 'Political Compass' (4/3/2013 6:00:53 PM)

Considering Mitt was a money man who didn't materially contribute to the creation of wealth I think even Ayn Rand would argue he was a vulture profiting off the backs of the hard working creators.

No surprise there.
