My mistake.
To be honest, it's not a system I know anything about besides the fact that it's geared towards avoiding a fight if that's at all possible and seriously hurting your opponent if that isn't. That's why I thought it might potentially be a better idea for self defence under those circumstances. The point about idiots going about in packs is a good one, though.

It is a very good idea but most self defense courses include "Get the hell outa Dodge" as a very important step.
The idea is to stay alive and relatively unharmed. Hanging around to enjoy your handiwork or to inflict extra 'fun damage' (I admit I was once guilty of the last) can lead to that not happening.

It's usually the fuckwit at the front that's the leader and the biggest asshat.
Deal with him and the rest are usually asswipes that have no spine and they will often flee.

You are correct but I don't like to gamble my precious parts based on 'often'.
They've had enough holes, contusions and abrasions over the years as it is.

Very true.
As you say, though, the urge to kick* somebody after you've put them down can be very hard to resist, and I'd imagine that ramps up a lot if he's molested you rather than just contriving some excuse to pick a fight.

*(or worse)

My oldest daughter is a plains clothes police officer, and was a decoy to catch a serial rapist a few years ago. They caught the bastard and his defense attorney claimed "entrapment."

Did the entrapment defence stick?

Nope, the bastard got 25 years to life. He never killed anyone, but he did mess some of the victims up real bad. One ended up in a wheel chair, though she will probably walk again with a cane, but still.

My personal opinion, is that my daughter should have claimed that he tried to escape after she identified herself waiting for the stake out team to arrive and shot the bastard.

Thankfully, my daughter has a higher since of justice, she actually believes in the system.

According to her, when she pulled her weapon and put the barrel to his eye (the force was enough to give him a nice shiner) it took the starch out of his tool, and he started crying like a two year old.

Well, I'm sure he'll be doing more blubbing inside: I'm told a lot of prisoners take a very dim view of sex offenders.

I have heard rapists use the argument "She was asking for it" referring to attire, attitude etc.
I like this image for its rebuttal.

She's hot.

I'd do her.
