No, it doesn't.

Find me one "news" organization that pays for interviews of their subjects.

News organizations will pay "consultants" to be experts in their field ("talking heads"). But they won't pay people who are the subject of the topic being discussed. In fact, I think most attorneys could get disbarred for doing that.

lol I see it more as him auditioning for future work.. so he will eventually get something outta it, since accused murderers likely prefer a lawyer with a good track record of successfully defending other accused murderers.. I would say he had a good idea that she wouldnt be able to pay him in the end, regardless of the outcome of her trial.. so he did it for the PR in the first place.. I cant feel sorry for the guy..

Oh, agreed. But that's not "these days"-- go look at Clarence Darrow (or Mencken, for that matter); people have been involving themselves in "Crime of the Century" cases since forever, in order to promote themselves.

Absolutely. As a young attorney, I can tell you that if the opportunity presented itself to represent a side in a major action (civil or criminal), I would jump at the chance, regardless of whether that would ultimately pay me money. It's just smart business.

But that doesn't mean he's recouped anything. It means his business grew. Casey Anthony still owes him for her legal fees (until the debt is discharged in bankruptcy).
