Casey Anthony, who some say got away with the murder of her baby has filed for bankruptcy. According to court documents her biggest creditor? None other then Jose Baez, the attorney who defended her in her murder trial and is making money from a book he wrote about the case, he claims she owes him some $500,000.

She probably does owe him that much. Capital murder trials are expensive.

Nosathro -> RE: Casey Anthony Bankruptcy (3/4/2013 11:45:39 AM)

Well maybe Jose is trying to recover some of the money from the book deal, the book got mixed reviews, and is not selling very well. You can buy it for around $17.00.

Yeah, I have no problem believing this is accurate.

Also...I could care less about any Casey Anthony story. Let 'er live, and after all...she's still innocent, because she wasn't convicted of killing her child.

Just because she was found not guilty, doesn't mean she didn't do it. Anyone with a lick of common sense knows that she is guilty of murdering that beautiful little girl..

LadyPact -> RE: Casey Anthony Bankruptcy (3/4/2013 1:04:51 PM)

I have no sympathy for her.

stephINca -> RE: Casey Anthony Bankruptcy (3/4/2013 3:28:26 PM)

She's not innocent just found not guilty FAR different things.

"Innocent" and "wasn't convicted" are two oh so different things.........luci

~FRing it~

I too feel absolutely zero pity for her. Bankruptcy is the least of what she deserves, but I guess thats what you get for getting away with murder.

Same as everyone knows about OJ! What is real & true is very different than what can be proven beyond reasonable doubt in court.

After working with the full brother (same litter) of OJ's akita...no one that wasn't well aquainted with nicole, the house & the yard got close enough to kill her with the dog next to her. Everyone knows what logically happened, but proof was hard to come by.

Uhhh...it doesn't quite work that way. Unless you mean he's trying to build notoriety by bankrupting her, thus inducing more sales.

MasterJohnSteed -> RE: Casey Anthony Bankruptcy (3/5/2013 6:39:05 AM)

Simply put: The Facts don't add up.

She killed the child she covered it up and she got away with it.

I'm going to need to stick with "innocent until proven guilty". That is a cornerstone of our legal system and one I'm unwilling to just trample into the mud for no apparent reason. Hell, that's exactly why I want Obama tried for Treason... he abandoned "innocent until proven guilty". So it'd be fairly gauche of me to support that thinking myself.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Casey Anthony Bankruptcy (3/5/2013 8:43:10 AM)

How they could not convict her is beyond me. I am as sure she killed her baby as I am sure the sun is shinning. I would hope it haunts her but from what I have seen of her on TV she seems more the type that she is only every sorry she gets caught. So since she is not sitting in prison like the mother of Riley Ann Sawyers I hope she never has a moments peace.

servantforuse -> RE: Casey Anthony Bankruptcy (3/5/2013 8:52:18 AM)

That for me would include her time left in this world and the here after.

LizDeluxe -> RE: Casey Anthony Bankruptcy (3/5/2013 9:51:21 AM)

That case should never have gone to trial. The ME couldn't even say for certain how the child had died. You can't prove it was murder much less prove the defendant committed the murder - even if you had proof that it was murder - and you still charge murder and go forth with the trial? It had acquittal written all over it from day one. Personally, I rather enjoyed watching the reaction that evening of that douchebag ex-prosecutor Nancy Grace. The Casey Anthony is an example of what is right with our justice system. It's not about what you think you know - it's about what you can prove.

playfulotter -> RE: Casey Anthony Bankruptcy (3/5/2013 7:02:05 PM)

I think he has made a lot of money from news interviews or the like since the trial so he has recouped some of what he was owned...how much...who knows...this is the way life works these days....

I still can't believe she got away with it.

I am not disagreeing with what you have said about the case should never have gone to trial, however, oddly enough, there have been a few cases where someone has been charged and convicted of murder without the supposed victims body ever being found.. so to a certain degree, yes, a person can go to jail even without actual "proof"..
