slvemike4u -> Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/25/2013 6:25:45 PM)

Just arrived back home, after a harrowing late afternoon/early evening trek down I-95,left New York to escape the winter.....ran into a winter wonderland of accidents spin outs and stranded vehicles.
Left New York Thursday but grew too tired to drive straight through....so I stopped for the evening......bad decision, real bad.
I compounded that by sleeping late this morning.
I-95 turned into an ice rink....I didn't want to turn the whole thing into a three day trek....so I just kept driving along, the further I drove the less sense stopping seemed.
But I'm getting older and driving with my ass puckered for 6 hours is hell on the nervous system.

Never happier to park a car in my life.

I quite agree, yesterday the high was 80 degrees, today it only managed to hit 58.

And I am not being sarcastic, this has been the mildest winter in my memory, while east texas has been slammed with Ice storms and other winter conditions. We need the snow, ice, freezing rain and what ever other moisture we can get to break this 9 year drought.

Mike, I know I am not one of your favorite people, but would you please send all that snow and stuff to west texas?

Yup, 95's been a mess everywhere. Everyone I know today who had to take 95, no matter what state they were in today on the East Coast where the snow is hitting, have said 95 was harrowing on their way to get to somewhere. I'm glad they are all home or at their destinations now and hopefully staying off of the roads tonight.

I don't get to send shit anywhere,'cause I certainly would have sent it somewhere, anywhere, earlier this afternoon [:)]....so I can't help you out Jeff.

Lil wonder I ain't going nowhere else tonight,60 degrees sunday,70 tuesday.....lol,go figure [8|]

It's supposed to be cold here all weekend and then reach 45 on Monday. Of course it would start to warm up on Monday when you make plans for the weekend and it might be cancelled because of the weather. [:'(]

I blame global warming.. That damm ice is everywhare in Wisconsin/

Actually, contrary to what one would think, if the currents that bring warm water to the north Atlantic, and returns cooler denser water to the south Atlantic, cold air will stay north of the tropics and another ice age will start.

Of course my solution to the problem of climate change has not garnered interest from the Government.

I propose we detonate every nuclear weapon in the US arsenal in underground firings and make the yellowstone supervolcano erupt. Instant ice age and no more climate change.

It's 64 and raining here. I'll take that over whatever the rest of the country is getting.

95 is an ugly mess even when the sun is shining

Toysinbabeland -> RE: Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/25/2013 9:13:06 PM)

It's 22° here.

I blame Al Gore.

I love 95 in Wisconsin.. Last summer was the best pool year we have ever had...

LadyPact -> RE: Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/25/2013 11:01:47 PM)

You are home now though, yes?

I noticed this morning on the news that Atlanta was getting snow, so it should have occurred to Me that I-95 would be ugly.

Oh my god there were like 3 snowflakes, and everyone shit bricks and called out of work. My 6 hour shift turned into a 16. Stupid weather people. I work about 1.5 hr north of ATL, and it never even got down to freezing!

LadyPact -> RE: Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/25/2013 11:37:18 PM)

Lynnxz, you know how people react in GA when something white falls from the sky. At least most of the folks who don't know how to drive in the snow stay home. It's a better attitude than "I've got four wheel drive, I can get through anything."

Lynnxz -> RE: Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/25/2013 11:39:46 PM)

I just couldn't figure out if it WAS going to snow. I just moved out to a rural area, no billboards or street lights, I'm afraid I'm going to scoot off into a 10 foot ditch.

LadyPact -> RE: Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/26/2013 12:16:28 AM)

How do you like the new place?

(Sorry for the hijack, mike. We seem to be the only two up.)

ShaharThorne -> RE: Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/26/2013 7:43:15 AM)

Jeff, I tried to send you what I got in East TX, but you did not have your arms open.

Most anything that we get is rain now. Last rainstorm (not counting this mornings') was 2 weeks ago and we still have mud. I think East TX is officially drought free now.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/26/2013 7:46:33 AM)

We are suppose to get near 70 this week, the only bad part of that is when it gets warm in January we get nasty storms. Winter tornadoes are so fun!

I have been looking for a virgin of legal age to sacrifice to the rain gods, or who ever is in charge of rain. And you know that nuns are not suitable sacrifices, so my search has been futile.

DesFIP -> RE: Oh the weather outside is frightful..... (1/26/2013 5:30:10 PM)

Here, two hours north of Manhattan, we only got a dusting.

As much as I hate snow, we need it to fill the reservoirs.

Getting a bad hurricane does massive damage but doesn't give us the water we need.
