I've owned every kind of coffee making device known to mankind over the years, with the exception of $4k to $6K commercial expresso stations, and I've had plenty of shots from those. At home, the hubble-bubble is my favorite, followed by its inverse cousin the AeroPress, but they are a lot of hassle. The optimal combination of reasonable price, good flavor, and convenience is the Keurig for single servings, and a Bonjour press into a filtered vacuum carafe for larger quantities (use a burr grinder on the coarsest setting to cut down on sediment). There are a lot of coffee myths out there, one being that the darker the roast the more caffeine, another being that the hotter the water the better, another being freezing coffee.
