I don't normally make resolutions, but this year I'm changing all that. On christmas day, my brother's wife had a bad fall while drunk (yet again). Next day, she developed a blood clot on her brain and needed emergency surgery which took 8 hours in total. She nearly died. She's 3 years younger than me, and a mother of two. Her expected long, difficult recovery was caused by her poor choices and her addiction to alcohol. Yet this tragic accident, which may leave her disabled for life, probably saved her life. Without it, she'd have drunk herself to death. I've done a lot of thinking. I will make the choice to improve my own health. Conquer my own addictions (food, mainly) and make my future a happy place to look forward to. Every healthy day is a joy, every day should be cherished.
