The icons and archetypes of tarot were an initial reference point for me to review, though somewhat frustraiting as my own personal library is chugging its way easternly unpon the Pacific. Had i been trying to add only a single symbol for those of all ranges of the androgynous spectrum, i think i'd agree that borrowing symbols from the established GreekyRomanish astrological signs would have sufficed. Janus did, in fact, keep popping into mind. However, no matter what i found, the conotations ( at least the bulk of modern conotations ) were too restrictive for my needs. Damn those external variables. Since it was the modern points of view that were throwing me for a loop, i found that adding elements of modern symbols from the LGBT subculture ( Syl's idea ) most helpful. Sadly, the library here lacks any works of Carl Jung. Trust me, i looked, i was sad. There's one book on human sexuality, and it was wrote before i was born. While normally i have no problem with old books, i require modern news in this area and let's just say that my currently available database makes me sneeze a little from its dust levels. The last part was not figurative, the "ology" zone of the library doesn't see much foot traffic. i'm satisfied with what i've devised, though i'm sure when i get more information availble, i'll be at great temptation to tweak the edges. Or crumble up my note pages, hit my head on the desk, and start over.
