Emla cream is always an option. I checked with my guy before I have mine done (a treble clef with a bass clef dangling from it, above my right ankle). He did NOT recommend it as it makes the skin "spongy". I know there is a better word for it than that, but I can't think of it. But because the ski is softer than normal, it makes the work a little more difficult. He said he would not guarantee his work if I used it. I chose to go without, and ended up giggling for an hour. I got my first one when my son turned 10. My girl will be 10 in April, so I am looking for another music design. Keep in mind that pain is very subjective. My nursing instructors always stressed that pain is what the person says it is. Pain can also be influenced by our expectations. If you go into this experience expecting it to hurt? It is going to hurt. Don't let other people's experiences influence your expectations. As for the aspirin, Greedy is right, although the word she is looking for is anti-coagulant. Try taking some for of ibuprofen. Second choice would be paracematol. As for post tattoo cleaning....plain old dish soap. That is what was recommended, and it turned out beautifully. Don't waste money on something you will only use a few tablespoons of, then throw out. Good luck, and I hope you post a picture for us. Many artists will take a pic immediately and email it to you, especially if in ana area that might be difificult to see.
