This is my tat. My skin is really dry right now, so it isn't in the best shape. I need to get him to give it a renewal when I get the next one.s

I have a butterfly tattoo on my right shoulder/back. I has 6 different colors, and it measures approximately 4x3. I am also fair skinned. Getting the tattoo did not hurt...there were a few initial pricks that caught my attention, but after that I was good. It did take several hours to complete. I am not good at sitting still, so that was the hard part. I took a couple of friends along with me, which made the time pass more readily.

I bought some antibacterial soap, and took care of my tat, as my designer had suggested. Don't use neosporin too long, and your tat will stay inflammed. I think I used it a day or two, and that was it. It was painful to sleep on the tat for a couple of days, and I wore a strapless bra, otherwise there were no major issues. I had no problems healing, and three years later it still looks great!

I am actually thinking about a second one!

Enjoy!

I compare the sensation of being tattooed to someone carving at you with an electrified exacto knife. Yeah. It's going to hurt when they do it, and it will feel like a moderate sunburn for a few days afterward. If it concerns you, a couple leftover painkillers from the dentist might help before you go in. No alcohol.

Ink color doesn't make a bit of difference. However, the hard lines and hard points of the design are going be more painful than shading and background coloring. Sheet music is going to be almost entirely the former.

My left arm is covered, from just above the elbow to the top of the shoulder, with a Halloween decoration, and the worst sitting of the four it involved was the last, 15 minute, session, when the stars were added to the night sky.

JanahX -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/21/2012 1:27:17 PM)

I had two - Ive had them lasered off.

The first one was of the Queensryche symbol on my left shoulder blade. I was dating one of the musicians back in the early nineties. Long gone days.

The second was an Celtic armband with my b/f at the time - initial interwoven in it. He got the same one with my initial interwoven in it. - We broke up a long ass time ago.

Then when I met my first Master, he hated them and set up appointments to get them removed. Three grand and a year and a half later - theyre both gone. The removal hurt a million times more than actually getting them.

ScarletKissesx -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/21/2012 2:35:25 PM)

Wow I can't believe you went through the removal :/ I don't think I would ever do it i've thought about a tattoo for years, weighed up the chances of me hating it eventually I'm still going through cause its my way of gaining closure :)

vixenkneels -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/21/2012 4:18:16 PM)

I have 20 +/- tattoo's and a few of them are on pink parts so they didn't "tickle", but since I'm a pain slut I just applied the same mentality I enter when I'm scening; don't anticipate the pain, breathe slowly and deeply, and do not tighten up.

You'll be fine, enjoy your ink!

JanahX -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/21/2012 8:47:23 PM)

My life now is a lot different then what it was like when I got my tats -

I went through three stages with them. Stage 1> I fucking loved them and they were the best things ever. Stage 2> I wasnt really digging them anymore, they definitely wernt as great as when I first got them. Stage 3 > I fucking HATED them and wished I never got them and wanted them gone.

Why? Because as I got older, I changed, and my life completely changed.

I actually did a segment for the Dr. Phil show when I was in L.A. two years ago - on things that you regret. I talked about my tats.

littlewonder -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/21/2012 9:31:36 PM)

I have 5 but I'm in the process of having them removed. They simply are not part of my life anymore. I'm not that person anymore. The removal hurts a hundred times worse than getting the tat but in the end I will like them being gone and now a blank slate except for Master's bruises and marks. [:D]

JanahX -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/21/2012 9:51:14 PM)

That laser hurts huh lil wonder - I flipping hated it. And it took over 13 months to get mine zapped off. I also hated the lady who did it - she was a raging Right winger and talked about politics the whole time. If I wasnt so doped up from the lidocaine - I swear I would of killed her.

littlewonder -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/21/2012 9:57:49 PM)

ooohhh...I started mine without lidocaine because I didnit want to have to sit in the office for 45 minutes until I was numb. That was such a mistake! LOL. The woman with the laser felt sorry for me and she asked me if I wanted to take a break every 10 seconds. I told her no, just do it and get it over with. She gave me a ball to squeeze to help. lol

Yeah, a tattoo is a breeze compared to the laser!

Thanks for pointing the arrow towards this image. After spending a lot of time today looking at music images, I have decided this is the one!

Yourdarkdesire my friend has that on his wrist :) the image i like is a little different I'll put it up when I'm on the laptop and not my phone

whoa...that sounds scary intense getting them removed

LadyPact -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/22/2012 2:28:12 AM)

If you look very carefully at My primary pic, you will see the tat of the three little hearts on My left breast. They match the colors that MP has on his chest surrounding My name that he has on him.

It didn't hurt. Even I have enough boob there for cushion. LOL.

yourdarkdesire -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/22/2012 3:01:07 AM)

If I were to get a third one, I would get a pink breast cancer ribbon on my left breast, over my heart, in memory of my mom.

ScarletKissesx -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (10/22/2012 5:45:01 AM)

Thats so sweet but heartbreaking too :(

Paladin9 -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (11/24/2012 10:09:21 PM)

After the tat is removed is there any signs that it took place. Does the skin tan like the rest of the skin around it.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Tatoo's, Your experiences please :) (11/25/2012 7:17:03 AM)

The only thing Im going to add about tats is this. If you get something in a foreign language, know for YOURSELF what the translation is.
Way back when, allll the hipsters had to have Chinese or Japanese characters for strength, perseverance or whatever rot the artist told them it was because it was "Cool".
I worked with a Chinese/American engineer (Born in Taiwan). He said that you'd be amazed how many of the "cool kids" have "Gullible White Boy" or something similar tattooed on their body.

I wouldn't recommend aspirin, as it "thins" blood (well, here is a better explanation that I would be able to formulate: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_aspirin_thin_blood )

Do NOT take asprin or drink.
