Sort of the same way about abortion.

Romney isnt actually getting one (in reference to you saying Romney isnt actually using tobacco)

Romney isnt actually giving one (in reference to saying he wasnt actually selling them)

Yet, in this, he feels some moral obligation to tell me I cant have one except under his conditions. Yet, you allow that he may have viewed selling tobacco to another country as somehow different.

Bain wasn't selling tobacco. RJ Reynolds and BAT were selling tobacco. Bain helped them get into the Russian market.

You can say whatever you want about abortion, or what I say about abortion, or whatever batshit crazy malarkey you want to say. In the end, I am Pro-Life, and I hold the power to make that decision ... wait for it ... for me. With regards to someone else's fetus, I have no say (especially since I'm one of those that's been snipped, so it ain't mine). I do not support taking away a woman's right to choose to have an abortion. I do not support the Federal Government giving money to a charity provider. Tax breaks are not the same as funding, btw (and I would have no qualms about PP having tax breaks given to other charity providers). I know TheHeretic tweaked your Abortion Bone on another thread, but it has no place here.

You continually get on me about derailing threads, yet, you are doing that here. The OP was about Bain helping the tobacco companies and Bain getting Federal money to help Yeltsin. The OP took those as the same event, yet, they were not the same events. The Federal contract was after Bain started helping the tobacco companies.

We were not discussing his beliefs, in general. We were discussing the Mormon beliefs as they pertain to the topic of the thread.

Nice try anyway.

The only reason I bring up my beliefs was to show you, once again, that our personal views might differ, but our political views on this general issue do not. As we have gone 'round and 'round enough times prior, it will get us nowhere and it'll take a long time and several gajillion posts to get there.

Yeah, I argue about nonsense. I was engaged in a discussion about Romney/Bain helping tobacco companies get into the Russian economy, and Bain getting $$ from the Feds to help Yeltsin. As part of that discussion, Mormon beliefs were stated that followers were not allowed stimulants, including nicotine.

Then, you decided to slop on over and start criticizing Romney over his abortion beliefs. At least when the Mormon beliefs were brought up by HillWilliam, they at least pertained to the OP. That much can't be said about your abortion blitz.

And you made the excuse that Romney wasnt actually doing those things, so he didnt feel a moral conflict. Well, he isnt actually getting or performing an abortion either, so why is the excuse that his morality dictates differently ok to use in one situation and not in another?

Again, tazzy, this particular march on Romney's beliefs has nothing to do with the OP. If you want to discuss how it applies to abortion, start a new thread.
