ORIGINAL: DarkSteven I read an interesting article which put forth the theory that Romney's not doing this for 2012, but for 2016. He's worried that, should he win the Presidency in 2012, he might not be able to control the party in 2016. I don't think he can control it in '16 either. That's not a knock on him, it's a knock on what the system has devolved into over the last couple of decades. Anyone who thinks they are 'controlling' a political party is having delusions of Topping from the bottom. Theorize as much as you want, the rule change was dropped. My post had nothing to do with the RNC rule change or even with any particular party. Reading comprehension....................It's your friend. Its the topic at hand and your thread continued the speculation on the reasons. Content and context...apparently not your friends. No, my comment was in answer to a quote by Steven. You weren't involved in the conversation until you shoved yourself in. Go back and read. It flowed nicely until you dragged it off topic. Context here seems to be your worst enemy.[:D] As for it being off topic, actually, it's not. The topic is the RNC (the DNC does the same thing) and its power to make up the rules as it goes along even if that includes disenfranchisement of its own people. As for speculation on the reasons. Please show where I was speculating on the REASONS for the RNC's behavior. I wasn't. That wasnt even a good attempt at a strawman argument. If I didn't know better, I'd almost think I was talking to someone from Idaho but he's been moderated and we all know that noone would do such a thing as to post by proxy.[8|]
