ORIGINAL: outhere69 Heh heh heh. Reminds me of those guys who spend 3 hours a day at the gym, all of it in front of the mirrors where they see who can grunt the loudest. They're idiots. The human digestive system isn't capable to take up protein in fast enough and sufficient quantity to sustain a 3 hour a day weight lifting regime. Also, we build muscle not while exercising, but while resting. A 7 day a week, 3 hour a day weight lift schedule does not allow the muscles the down time they need to actually recover and grow. Muscle mass and strength grow by damaging the muscle and repairing it a little bigger than it was before in anticipation of preventing future repeat damage. Without sufficient protein to match every exercise done, and without sufficient rest time to repair the damage caused by weightlifting, the body will start canniballize itself in an attempt to keep up, growth and progress with stagnate, and injuries will become inevitable eventually. Mirrors, btw, are absolutely crucial for weightlifting, as keeping the right form is important both to maximize growth, as well as to prevent injuries. Without a mirror, checking your own form is nearly impossible to do. When you see the beefy guys intently looking at themselves in the mirror while lifting, they're checking for form, not checking themselves out.
